...agreed. I saw photos and notes a few months ago from a Russian civilian's tour of North Korea. Some of the North Korean roads were flanked with anti-tank obstacles. The best way to describe what I saw from the Russian's account in general was that everything looked bare and very poor. The people in the photos appeared often to be afraid of the camera. ...wish I'd kept a link.

Did you see the thread with this 14-part video series of North Korea? The blogger smuggled video and photos out of NK to put this site together. I can't find the thread, but was able to search for and find the website.
I made my son watch all 14 videos.
