CNN’s Toobin, Cafferty: Obama’s ‘Bitter’ Comments ‘Factually Accurate’

CNN’s senior legal analyst Jeffrey Toobin, during a discussion on Friday’s "The Situation Room," defended Barack Obama’s comments, that small-town voters are often "bitter" and they "cling to guns or religion or antipathy to people who aren’t like them," and blasted Hillary Clinton for her criticism of the comments. "I think that is so ridiculous.... I mean that is not at all what Barack Obama said.... I mean Hillary Clinton is clearly distorting what Obama said. And, by the way, what Obama said is factually accurate." Jack Cafferty, a regular contributor to "The Situation Room," agree with Toobin, and went further. "Look, Jeff's right. They call it the 'Rust Belt' for a reason.... The people are frustrated. The people have no economic opportunity. What happens to folks like that in the Middle East, you ask? Well, take a look. They go to places like al Qaeda training camps. I mean there's nothing new here."

How do they get away with such a stupid generalization?

What generalization? How can their statements be regarded as "stupid" when nobody on this board has refuted them?

BTW, it's nice to see so many freepers taking up Hillary's side of an issue for once. Usually I am one of the few on FR to stick up for her.

DON’T WATCH CNN! Problem solved :).

Yet another chance to point out to the Fox News employees who frequent this forum that CNN is in HD. I suppose some day in the distant future Fox News will be too. In the meantime, I'm doing a lot more CNN then I ever thought I would. Fox needs to get their act together and get going with their HD program.

It’s factually right that Blacks are better athletes than whites and eat fried chicken and ribs. But if I said that in public, i’d get tarred and feathered.

Counterproductive in the sense that war only begets more war.

Yeah, you know, I think you might be on to something. No, really. After all these years, your preseverence has paid off! I'm a believer.

That Hitler guy, we should never have fought him. I mean, that only begot more war! Brilliant Murry Mom, just BRILLIANT!

Oh what a thinker you are! A regular Einstein, indeed.

Counterproductive in the sense that war only begets more war. There is no end game in sight, no clearly stated objective at the start of the occupation.

War brings peace. The clearly stated objective is to win and prevent more 9/11 type events from ever happening here again.

Also not productive to 4000 needlessly dead American soldiers, 700,000 dead Iraqis, and millions more displaced from their homes as a result of Bush-sponsored ethnic cleansing.

Those 4000 did not die needlessly. What about the 3000 needlessly dead in NYC? Do you know many Iraquis died by saddam’s hands? Bush-sponsored ethnic cleansing? More like saddam-sponsored rape, torture and killing.

You're so full of poop you stink....all the way across the nation. Please stop trying to pass off the lies to people on FR....it really is futile....we are informed, unlike your commie friends.

Some of CNN is tolerable. Lou Dobbs and most of his guests are tearing Obama apart for his inane remarks. lol

Good for Dobbs. He's the one sane person left at CNN.

Toobin is a tool.
