Liver transplants for illegal aliens: Entitlements + open borders = disaster( Michelle Malkin )

I’ve written before about organ transplants for illegal aliens–and been attacked by the usual socialist suspects as cruel, heartless, and racist for questioning the wisdom of US public policy that indiscriminately allocates scarce health resources at taxpayer expense to illegal immigrants. The open-borders entitlement mentality has only grown deeper since the last time this issue went national with the case of Jessica Santillan. The ideologues who believe that America should be the medical welcome mat to the world have prevailed.

My daughter just received a text message from her very attractive, well-off, but naive friend that said, “I'm so sad, my boyfriend was just deported!” After having a good hard laugh about the absurdity of it, reality set in that these parasites are targeting girls like this everywhere hoping to marry into the family, wealth and country. One I know of was accepted to Harvard after marrying his 18 year old “girlfriend”. Yep, accepted while illegal.

Illegal aliens who live in CA and who are accepted as students at the University of California pay instate tuition.
How’s that grab ya...

Very painfully. I doubt the “once illegal but now married at 18 legal” in Harvard is paying a dime either.

In addition to the expense involved, you also need to look at the drain they are putting on the availability of organs. This child used up 4 livers? How many of our own citizens with the same blood type died while waiting for a liver?

I can speak from personal experience that there is an organ shortage; I’ve been waiting for a kidney for almost 3 years now.

Although I don’t live in Kalifornia, it angers me that despite our citizens donating organs, they are being given to criminals who shouldn’t be here (those in the country illegally=criminals).

You nailed it and since where at it, if she was this ill, how many years of housing, foodstamps and welfare received? Where’s my money because business sucks right now? How about healthcare, if my liver failed 4 times I would be paying $100k in deductables for the remainder of my life.

Possibly accepted because he was illegal. Adds spice to the student body, you know.

Just think of the "awesome" diversity enhancement that Harvard gains by enrolling illegals! </sarcasm>

NO!

These TWO "children", both now 21 YO, have used up EIGHT livers between the two of them.

At this rate, they're likely to burn through a few more, before they die.

And to think that I waqs outraged when lifers demanded transplants to keep themselves alive behind bars...despite their sentence being for 'the rest of their natural life'.

Unfair and insane. It sends a horrible message, especially to young people - if you break the laws, you will get rewarded.

US State Department issues new travel alert for Mexico

MEXICO CITY — The State Department on Monday issued a new travel alert warning of rising violence in northern Mexico, but stopped short of suggesting that Americans avoid traveling in the border region.

The alert detailed an uptick in drug-related homicides, shootouts, kidnappings and car thefts near the border, particularly in the cities of Tijuana, Chihuahua and Ciudad Juarez.

About 200 people have been killed so far this year in Ciudad Juarez, a city of 1.3 million across from El Paso, Texas.

“These conditions are widely known here in Mexico from watching the news every day, but many tourists are simply not as aware of what goes on in other countries as they are in their own,” U.S. Ambassador Tony Garza said in a statement.

However, the alert “does not advise Americans to avoid travel to any region or city,” Garza said.

Mexico has suffered a wave of organized crime and drug-related violence in recent years that killed more than 2,500 people in 2007 alone.

Melinda, marrying a citizen does not make one a citizen, or a legal resident for that matter. Many Americans who marry Europeans have to wait for their spouse to get a green card, just like everyone else except our neighbors to the south, that is.

A word to the wise, ladies. (And I guess, Gents) Make sure your intended is not already married back in the old country, as Barak Hussein Obama, Sr. was when he hooked up with Mama Obama. This goes double and triple for Muslim fellows, who are often married off to a cousin or two before they head for an American campus.

My teen will be competing against illegals for a slot in pre-med. Just read the admissions where it plainly states they are looking for bilinguals who come from disadvantaged backgrounds and that legal status doesn't matter. In other words, a middle class US citizen who's worked their behind off making the grade and who's parents have paid taxes all these years is being denied the American Dream. Thanks alot, Jorge.

My best friend died because she never recieved a kidney. I still miss her terribly. I remember her especially every 9/11 because we were on the phone in shock together the entire day. Somehow that's how I think of her even now.

This just belittles the stature of what once was considered the best education available. Admissions officers all over the country are a joke now, they're all on their own power trips. An illegal alien who marries at 18 is now considered Harvard material? It shouldn't matter if he can perform a lobotomy blindfolded. He is here in total disregard of our country's laws, and at 18, he is fully aware of that fact. Harvard has hit the bottom in my eyes, and I'm speaking from a family that has two Harvard alums.
