SAN JOSE (CBS 5) ― Controversy is brewing over at the Miss Café in the Alum Rock neighborhood in San Jose. It's not because of the food, but over the revealing clothing worn by the wait staff.
The restaurant serves Vietnamese food and coffee. Some neighbors say the restaurant is inappropriate and are upset over the mini-skirt wearing waitresses. The owners say outside of a minor code violation, Miss Café is not breaking any laws.
Our video report has more.

Of course if it was a gay hangout with nearly naked men, SJ would file a lawsuit for hatecrimes against the neighbors for complaining.
I saw this report around a month ago on TV. What is most funny is that the owner’s wife is one of the “scantily” clad ladies. There is nothing wrong with this place as far as I can see. The reporter even liked th food!
Note - I live 15 miles from there now - use to live maybe 5. This is NOT a conservative area by any stretch of the imagination. Don’t we have more important things to worry about - like a possible tax on BEER!!!! ;-)
Me soooo hohny

And no, I didn't watch the video. I wouldn't patronize this place of business, so I sure wouldn't want to see what they are 'offering' on the evening news.
A story to take the publics’ mind off of the BEER TAX!?
What is this in Amish country? I don’t see anything wrong with their outfits. Not much different from what you would see in any Hooters or Flying Saucer.
Goodness, the clothes didn’t look any more revealing that what I see on the street every day. This sounds like something trumped up to give them free advertising.
susie
They serve you long time...
I am a devout Catholic family man, happily married for sixteen years and father to a one-year-old boy and I cannot fathom why anyone would be offended by the sight of a good-looking young woman in a miniskirt. The human body is not dirty, and it is not a sin to appreciate a pretty body any more than it is a sin to enjoy a pretty face. As long as one refrains from sexually fantasizing about (or otherwise objectifying) a pretty young lady, no wrongdoing has been committed.
I am raising my boy to be a gentleman, not a prude. I’d take my wife and child to this place any day. We love Vietnamese food and are not offended by the human body.
The, ah, overweight lady interviewed on the street that objects to it - tho’ she's never seen it - smacks of the green eyed monster.
One thing: hopefully, this will serve as great advertising they never could have afforded, especially with the reporter saying the steak he had there was one of the best he ever had.
Love it!
Now that brought back a lot of memories but from WestPac.
I yield to no one in my Grundyish prudery, but come ON! Robust young ladies in short skirts and halter tops. My Wal-mart is full of them, and most not as attractive as those waitresses. (Vietnamese girls have a hair advantage, sigh.)
I wouldn’t go there, though, because of the big TV screens all over.
I'll bet you ten bucks it was started by someone who was jealous she couldn't wear what the waitresses were wearing.
The real problem is it looks like they picked a bad location to put an expensive restaurant ($500,000 in renovations).
This thread was better without pictures...
Hard to believe that this place is only 50 miles south of San Francisco.
Enough said.
For later.
me so HUNGRY...
