President Bush is poised to change course and announce as early as this week that he wants Congress to pass a bill to combat global warming, and will lay out principles for what that should include.
Specifics of the policy are still being fiercely debated, but Bush administration officials have told Republicans in Congress that they feel pressure to act now because they fear a coming regulatory nightmare. It would be the first time Mr. Bush has called for statutory authority on the subject.
"This is an attempt to move the administration and the party closer to the center on global warming. With these steps, it is hoped that the debate over this is over, and it is time to do something," said an administration source close to the White House who is familiar with the planning and who said to expect an announcement this week.
The source requested anonymity to be able to speak on a sensitive matter still under debate. Given the arguments at the White House over the extent of the action to take, it is not clear exactly what Mr. Bush will propose, the adminstration source said.

So ridiculous. At a time when more and more evidence is showing global warming to be a fraud, our President is choosing to follow the lemmings on this. We’re going over a cliff of economic disaster and apparently nothing can stop it.
To: pissant
Sigh. This is not the legacy you want Mr. President.

The free market can be short circuited by stupidity. Large corporations are signed up for this GW nonsense because they stand to make big money off of it. The corporate leaders, and ignorant voters push our legislators and executive branch. There was a time I thought President Bush was strong enough, and smart enough to diffuse this garbage.
I was wrong.

Bush is just trying to stop the nutcases from creating a regulatory nightmare in the future. Global warming is a fraud but the nutcases are real.

By his own words, the administration source is one of those the debate is over guys.

Congress won’t be able to agree on anything with this “global warming” crap and the President knows it.

The sooner this POS is out of office the better.
And then we can get on with the business of attempting to deal with a truly accomplished POS. Depressing, isn't it?

How much more evidence do the Bush supporters need: He is a big government as the next socialist (Ivy League schooled don't cha know) the elites have been implementing the plan:
Increase in government control that is directly tied to the world government (global warming from EU and UN) ask MCCAIN why he supports major negative economic impact of Global warming laws and regs..and get the al gore answer to save the polar bears -LOL.
folks for those that can connect the dots..we are moving to some form of socialist world ruling body - not elected but appointed by the elites of the political and business class.
