We do not buy any highly processed dry cereals like that stuff! I think the box would be more nutritious than the cereal. We read the packages and so many of them are mostly sugar. We just do not buy them at all.

Puffed rice and Puffed wheat are 2 of the LEAST processed cereals around and both contain no sugar unless they are “Honey Coated”, etc. flavors.

Plain shredded wheat is also one of the least processed.

I was thinking the same thing myself. It's surprising that the salmonella can stay alive. I have never heard of salmonella in dry processed food before.
