What will a Hillary Clinton presidency look like?
The answer by now seems obvious: It will look like her presidential campaign, which in turn looks increasingly like the first Clinton presidency.
Which is to say, high-minded ideals, lowered execution, half truths, outright lies (and imaginary flights), take-no prisoners politics, some very good policy ideas, a presidential spouse given to wallowing in anger and self-pity, and a succession of aides and surrogates pushed under the bus when things dont go right. Which is to say, often.
And endless psychodrama: the essential Clintonian experience that mesmerizes the press, confuses the citizenry, confounds members of both parties in Congress (not to mention the Clintons themselves, at times) and pretty much keeps the rest of the world constantly amused and fixated.
Such a picture of Clinton Redux is, by definition, speculation. But it is speculation based on the best evidence at hand: the demonstrable and familiar record of Hillary and Bill Clinton coupled together in Permanent Campaign-mode for a generation, waging a continuous fight on the national political stage since 1992, an unceasing campaign for the White House, for redemption, for their ideas (sometimes) and for themselves (almost always), especially in 2008.
The basic dynamics of the campaign, except for the Clintons vast new-found personal wealth and its challenges, have been near-constant since they arrived in Washington: through Whitewater, health care, the battle of the budget, the culture wars, the tax returns released only under duress, the travel office, Monica, impeachment, the pardons and through Hillary Clintons often repugnant presidential campaign.

That sure sounded like the first Clinton Presidency, that’s for sure.
"Midnight basketball", Bosnia, welfare reform (stolen from the GOP), school uniforms? What the heck is he talking about?
Now if Bob Woodward wrote this I would read it, but since it is Carl Bernstein, I’ll pass. Carl is like the Fredo of the journalism family.
How the dreaded Hildabeast would view her "presidency"
What totally terrifies me that if Godzillary should be elected, along with a compliant congress and three quarters of the governors, we would be faced with a Constiutional Convention. The Clinton crime family could get rid of that pesky 22nd Amendment and we’d be stuck with them forever. And as long as they’re convened, they could get rid of that even peskier Second Amendment. God help us.
We won't know until the book comes out.
IMHO I think it has really surprised the Clinton’s that they aren’t allowed to get away with what they once did. With better than 60% of American’s having access to news via the internet it makes it much harder to get eveything swept under the rug,Thank-God!
If ignorance isn't bliss then you don't know what is.
Bernstein (Fredo) assassinates the Clintons (Godfather) in this piece. You should read it, it defies your false expectations.
Please, Carl: name ONE good policy idea (don’t even pretend that there are any GREAT policy ideas in her lib camp). You can’t. The only good things done in the first Clinton Administration came after The Contract and the GOP takeover of Congress. You better hope that we just avoid disastrous policy ideas that will likely cripple our economy, destroy free trade and the globalization that has benefited our economy for the past decade, and gives aid and comfort to all of our worst enemies. Stop BS’ing us, Carl!
This time the Arkansas grifters would be even more dangerous. Last time around they made blunders early on (1000 dollar hair cuts on Airforce-1, Gays in Military, raise record taxes) and lost the Congress.
This time around they would get giant Majorities in Congress, and they know the game now. They have gotten better at it. Media is also more brazen.
Second Klinton Presidency would redefine evil.
“...take-no prisoners politics...”
rather Nixsonian eh Carl?
Carl is an apologist for the Clintons. Even his so-called tell all book was written to de-sensitize us to the facts about Hillary. This article is much the same.
A second Clinton administration will be just as disasterous as the first only it would occur in a much more dangerous world.
