Gore Bars Press From Speech In San Francisco (CHARLATAN GREEN WEENIE HAWKS HIS WARES)
NewsBusters ^ | April 12, 2008 | Noel Sheppard

For a man who gets better press than virtually any person walking the planet, one has to wonder why Nobel Laureate Al Gore would ever want to bar media representatives from one of his speeches.

After all, it's not like anyone is going to ask him a tough question, or write something that might expose him as the charlatan most folks not drinking the Kool -- er, I mean Global Warming-Aid understand him to be.

However, that's exactly what happened Friday afternoon when the Global Warmingest-in-Chief spoke at the RSA Conference with specific instructions for no press members to be allowed through the doors of the Moscone Convention Center.

Perhaps a very good reason Gore has begun barring the press is according to Sheppard that:

“Is it possible Gore doesn't want press members present as he recommends people invest in companies that he already has a stake in? This is exactly what he did about a month ago in Monterey, California, as NewBusters reported Friday.

In fact, according to C/Net News.com, this was virtually the same "You Should Be Investing in What I'm Investing In" speech he gave in Monterey:

While I have not had time to do any fact checking, some of the more incredible comments the Guru of GloBull Warming posited were:

Gore talked about a tale of two planets, Venus and Earth. He said that Venus wasn't 877 degrees Fahrenheit just because it's closer to the sun; he said it's because it's covered in carbon dioxide gas, which absorbs infrared radiation. "It's not complicated; it's physics," he said. In all of human existence, carbon dioxide never went above 300 parts per million. "This year," he said, "it's 385 parts per million."

I seem to remember reading somewhere that CO2 levels had been much higher in the past, but hey, who’s going to challenge the Nobel Prize winner?

Gore also remarked that: “we have automated the process of converting carbon into CO2. Most of it is waste. The amount of energy we actually use from carbon is a very small amount, which posses a great challenge and a great opportunity."

Gore continued: Citing his friend and Colorado-based scientist (Amory Lovins) that Lovins had looked at how much energy was useful in a gallon of gasoline. Lovins found that only 1 percent is useful in moving a car from point A to point B. The rest, 99 percent, is waste, according to Lovins, "because the process, which is more than 100 years old, is incredibly inefficient," Gore said.

Huh? I knew that the internal combustion engine was not real efficient, but ONLY ONE PERCENT? Give me a break, Al and I suggest you and your Guru friend (Lovins) take your meds as I’m pretty sure that its somewhere around 20%.

“You want a cheap, plentiful, renewable ‘energy source?’ Well, here’s one for you, every time I open my mouth. All y’all have to do is figure out how to cap and trade it, which I’ve already done. Too bad, suckers!”

I wish I was as unscrupulous as Algore. I’d be rich, rich, rich, I tells ya!

However, I prefer sleeping well at night.

Can’t WAIT until this ponzi-scheme of his collapses. :)

Didn’t U.S. Senator Barack Hussein Obama (D-IL)try this last week at San Francisco’s “Billionaire Row” IIRC? How did that work for him, I wonder?

I really, really despise this World Changer. The community that supports him have "Normal Schools" under a stranglehold. It is sadistic.

Yes he want to plot how to make money off from his phony Gore-Bull Warming theories in which he has a personal (and financial) stake in his preconceived outcome.

I think of him more as a snake oil salesman or fortune teller.
He has no conscience or guilt.

“I think of him more as a snake oil salesman or fortune teller.”

What is amazing to me is that NO ONE ever questions his
credentials as a climate scientist.

A lot of people question his credentials. He’s been ducking the press more and more the last several months.

Sad to say, Gore and Lovins have a point here. Even if the internal combustion engine is 20% efficient, it generally uses enough energy to move a 3000 lb car from point A to point B, where the real point is to move a 150 lb person. 20% efficiency in moving the car translates to 1% efficiency in moving the person.

Okay, does that mean if one has a 7 passenger van then the efficiency rate increases to 7%?

How about a 40 passenger bus? Does that equate to a 40% efficiency rate?

Then we can jump to a 350 passenger jet or a 3000 passenger cruise liner.

So what is the real answer????

There is an article about this at CNet.com (which I call "DNCNet.com" - they seem to be quite Democrat friendly).

There is an interesting post in the section where people can comment on the articles. There is one titled "I was there. Here is my report.":

I was there today for Gore's speech at RSA. The rule was that you could only take pictures or video for the first 5 minutes. That is exactly how long it took him to provide some comical stories that had nothing to do with global warming. I stopped filming and put my camera away. Others at my table kept filming until the guards came around and told them that they would be asked to leave if they did not stop filming. I watched the guards methodically go through the crowd and stop each and every person that had an obvious LCD lit. After 15 minutes into the meat of his speech, Gore exclaimed that "the Arctic ice cap will be completely melted within 5 years". You could hear some gasps in the crowd. Not sure what others thought, but I thought it was without merit. So now it gets good. About a minute later, a brave young woman in her early twenties near the front row begins to tell Gore that he is wrong. He trys to laugh it off. She stays standing and continues to yell at him. Before her interruption many people began to leave early. I think the 5 year melting of the arctic was too much. So, she continues. The guards close in on her. I decided to follow her out. I could not take it anymore. I wanted to say something to her. I make it to the door right behind her. She is being escorted by three guards. I managed to get close to her and thanked her. She smiled and said your welcome. A cop meets them outside and continues with them up the escalator. I follow behind on the escalator. I hear really loud singing. A group of 10 or more come out of the keynote room singing a funny song. It was something like "Al Gore NotCo2, blah blah blah" The NotCo2 part sounded like Nazi. They followed close behind me on the escalator. There seemed to be more commotion and I witnessed many more people leaving early after I had exited. When we reached the top of the escalator, the cops and guards escorted the woman away. I did not catch where they went. The singers made to the top and then disappeared in an unknown direction. There was quite a bit of confusion going on. My thought is that the speech was cut short by so many leaving and the few causing the disruption. He got what he deserved. Maybe there was some disrespect, but when you bar the press and any recording of an event, you have to wonder. What is the big secret? Must be a thin skin issue.

Sorry for lack of paragraphs - that's how it was posted there.

Sounds like there could have been a Freeper or two in the audience...
