Why, ask many Democrats and media commentators, wont Hillary Rodham Clinton see the long odds against her, put her own ambitions aside, and gracefully embrace Barack Obama as the inevitable Democratic nominee?
Here is why: She and Bill Clinton both devoutly believe that Obamas likely victory is a disaster-in-waiting. Naive Democrats just dont see it. And a timid, pro-Obama press corps, in their view, wont tell the story.
But Hillary Clinton wont tell it, either.
A lot of coverage of the Clinton campaign supposes them to be in kitchen-sink mode hurling every pot and pan, no matter the damage this might do to Obama as the likely Democratic nominee in the fall.

I doubt she has periods any more! Furtive wink at ya!
Ok...age DOES have a number of benefits!! That'se WHY "life begins at 40"!
What a prizefight—Obama and Hillary. The most entertaining contest I’ve ever seen.
And the really delicious part is that they did it to themselves and we could sit back and watch.
Pass the popcorn please!

I got that far and nearly up-chucked. There we have a perfect example of two "perfumed princes" wrapped in cotton batting and protected from harm by real soldiers. Neither of these clowns "military career" was worth a bucket of warm spit. The closest they got to "seeing the tiger" was the San Diego Zoo.

“Both men lost control of their public images to the right-wing freak show that network of operatives and commentators working mostly outside of the mainstream media and ultimately lost their elections as many voters came to see them as elitist, out-of-touch, phony, and even unpatriotic.
“Obama is a much less familiar figure than Kerry or Gore, with a life story that is far more exotic, who is coming out of a political milieu in Chicago politics that is far more liberal.”

Well, these two authors with about 35 years writing out of DC sure have this right, and the way they write it certainly shows they are part of Obama’s elite.
I’m going to repeat yet again some of what I’ve written before:
What ODumbo said a couple days ago was typical Demodog elitist liberal thought. It demonstrates exactly how they look down on workaday America!
See the quote: Obama, speaking of some Pennsylvanians economic anxieties, told supporters at the San Francisco fundraiser: You go into these small towns in Pennsylvania and, like a lot of small towns in the Midwest, the jobs have been gone now for 25 years. ... And it’s not surprising then they get bitter, they cling to guns or religion or antipathy to people who aren’t like them or anti-immigrant sentiment or anti-trade sentiment as a way to explain their frustrations.
The key here has almost nothing to do with bitter, nor does it have to do with “small town”... the key is how this uniter and similar members of the intelligentsia look down on we the “little people” of this country, and our beliefs and values and political motivations! Unless you happen to be one of his elitist comrades or at a high rolling fundraiser, he considers you to be a seriously duped person if you don’t agree with him. Whether it’s religion, guns, illegals, etc... it’s all looked at as being part of being lower class.
His looking down on we who happen to seriously care about our religion explains why he could simply ignore all that Wright was saying to begin with, too. It really didn’t matter to him what was going on in the sermons. He was simply there for show to begin with, and to put in some face time to get known.
Even in his apology, he can’t see that it’s the way he looks down on us that is the reason for the firestorm. He’s still standing by the sentiment - that sentiment has nothing to do with bitter but with how these elites look down upon us rubes.
Now, thanks to his own remarks, that we the “little people” have become aware of how OBama is, “elitist, out-of-touch, phony, and even unpatriotic”, it is going to be even more difficult for him to be elected. You’re right: the ONLY point of the Demodogs creating their overwhelming “superdelegate” superiority was to prevent the train wreck that most of them by now can see is coming. I don’t think they can veer this train off the track, though, because there is another one coming at them on the parallel track: the absolute destruction of black support for their party if OBama is denied the nomination now.
Neither of these two can win the general election - the only question is how bad their carnage will become. I honestly don’t think that many people comprehend just how huge a problem Demodogs have now - and it is one of their own making, and a major result of the front-loading of the primary process.
I’ve got to hand it to the Demodogs, though... their antics are actually muting some of conservatives’ criticism of McCain. It is hard for me to believe that could ever have been possible.
Thanks bannie, I found all these links on your “in forum” list. :’)
