Stanley Kamel, who played Adrian Monks long-suffering psychiatrist on the TV detective show Monk, died Tuesday. He was 65.
Kamel was found dead of a heart attack in his Hollywood Hills home by his agents, publicist Cynthia Snyder said.
Kamel, born on Jan. 1, 1943, in New Brunswick, N.J., had a nearly four-decade acting career, much of it on television.
For several years, he portrayed Dr. Charles Kroger on the USA Network series Monk. As Kroger, he dispensed advice during weekly therapy sessions to Monk (Tony Shalhoub), a brilliant but neurotic private detective with obsessive-compulsive disorder.

"I'm comin', Margaret; it's the big one!"I say that often...but it's not a heart attack I'm talkin' about :)

What a loss. Stanley was an excellent actor. He will be missed. He really will...

it would be such an adventure watching Monk go through the process. I can see it now...ah, the angst...ah, the patience of all his friends wearing thin...Randys absolutely irrelevant input. Its delicious. I can see it too...

Well, if Tom Jones sings it -- hubba hubba. He's one of my guilty faves. Saw him in concert once -- between sets, ushers would pick up giant hefty bags of ladies lingerie thrown to the stage.
Full Monty -- just watched that again recently. That's a great little film. Love Robert Carlyle.

Dr. Kroger is a major character and foil for Monk -- and their dynamic will be hard to replace. "Adrian, I want you to stop sending your garbage to my house. It's upsetting to my wife and to my kids."
I think the writer's are capable of writing around it, but it will be a tough task.

LOL! Yes, his lack of physical appeal obviously limited his opportunities to drive hot cars and pick up scantily-dressed females with very pretty hair. He should sue somebody!
