The fans in Boston are taking it in the ass hard when it comes to buying tickets. They pay the highest ASP today. And the revnue share (aka welfare) scam means that teams are paying on revenues not profits so bigger market teams with good fan bases that watch the games on TV get screwed while the Marlins and Rays owners pocket $30 plus million a year in coin they did nothing to earn.

World Series championships cost money. Be thankful the results justify the investment.

I agree it is a scam.

. . . while the Marlins and Rays owners pocket $30 plus million a year in coin they did nothing to earn.

Actually, they did a lot to "earn" that money. That's what a sports league that covers the entire country is all about.

If nothing else, they provide additional exposure to the other teams in the league in cities that didn't have major league franchises before them.

However, it's also worth noting that the Florida Marlins have also won two championships in the last dozen years -- a pretty remarkable feat for a "small-market" team.
