The new Yankee Stadium may be cursed!

A devilish Boston fan working on a concrete crew at the $1.3 billion stadium covertly buried a Red Sox T-shirt under what will become the visiting team's locker room to jinx the Yanks, two construction workers told The New York Post yesterday.

They are two of the best franchises in the game today. Both clubs are in the playoffs because the fans demand good product and are willing to pay for it. That there is good young talent on the rosters shows good management and organizational development.

Philly fans once booed Santa Claus and jeered at Michael Irvin when he was carted off the field never to play again. Their baseball fans are some of the most foul mouthed obnoxious people around.

How does he know that BURYING a RedSox item UNDER Yankee stadium wont cause a curse on the Sox? The symbolism is unmistakable.

Or is it that the owners are willing to pay for it, and in the case of the Yankees, pay huge fines to violate the salary cap.

How do ticket prices for a Yankees or Red Soxs game compare to other teams?

"under what will become the visiting team's locker room to jinx the Yanks"

What an idiot!! It needed to be buried under the HOME team's locker room to jinx the Yankees. Now he's jinxed all the VISITING teams there forever.

If I were teh Yankees I would demand they dig up and repour that section of concrete.

Eventually that shirt will decompose and cause a pocket within the concrete.

Holy ignorant statement, batman. There is no salary cap in baseball. There is a luxury tax for teams with payrolls above a certain threshold. So, if you are a successful, profitable franchise, it's just part of the cost of doing business. It's not a fine and it's not a violation of anything.

Second, the people who pay for tix/merch understand that that money goes to pay for the talent on the field. Ticket prices for Yanks or Sox compares to other teams the same way the price of filet mignon compares to the price of dog food, and for the same reason.

There is a luxury tax, not a salary cap. If they are willing to pay it then that’s up to them.

By the way, The Red Sox and Yankees kicked in about 60% of the welfare payments that MLB uses to balance out franchises in smaller markets. Clubs like the Marlins, Rays and Pirates take that welfare and put in their pockets while keeping their payrolls lower than low.

The fans in Boston are taking it in the ass hard when it comes to buying tickets. They pay the highest ASP today. And the revnue share (aka welfare) scam means that teams are paying on revenues not profits so bigger market teams with good fan bases that watch the games on TV get screwed while the Marlins and Rays owners pocket $30 plus million a year in coin they did nothing to earn.

I know, I was at the last game of the season last year. My friend and I left before the game ended.

World Series championships cost money. Be thankful the results justify the investment.

I agree it is a scam.
