Donna Brazile is for Obama guest post by Masslib
ME: Yes, because she doesn't want any one to be offended. She's a buck stops here person. I think that's an admirable quality. DB: Blacks have been deeply wounded by the duplicity of the Clintons . Now, you may not like it or agree. But as a black person who helped saved the Clinton presidency, please just respect what I am saying. [emphasis added] Again, you disagree. But, I honestly believe the wounds will not heal. Its personal and the Clintons have shown their darker demons. [emphasis added] Now, I will end it here. I was Al Gores Campaign Manager. Let the buck stop here. If I make a decision to go with Obama, people read it as Al Gore hates the Clintons. So, I stay above the bull and do not take bull from the Clintons or the Obamas or the McCains. I dont owe anybody a dime. And if I counted who has helped me since 2000, it's Republican men and not Democrats.

I may not agree with much DB says, but for some reason I really like her!

“And if I counted who has helped me since 2000, it’s Republican men and not Democrats.”
Interesting statement.

And if I counted who has helped me since 2000, it's Republican men and not Democrats. A very telling statement, if you ask me. And one that, also in my opinion, is not unique within the African American community.

...I honestly believe the wounds will not heal. Its personal and the Clintons have shown their darker demons.
So even Donna Brazile, a whipsmart political operative who just happens to be black, can't stop herself from speaking of "darker demons"? Disappointing.
To: griswold3
I remember Donna coming out with a great positive comment on Judge Clarence Thomas that showed she was brave and principled for a political operative and consultant.

This is just laughable. She praised Clarence Thomas simply because he is black, she is in bed with Obama for the same reason: he is black. Nothing more, and nothing else.
She, just like many AA values skin color more than anything else.
In Clarence Thomas’ case, the enemy’s enemy is our friend.

Ms. Brazile seems to be one of the rarest of creatures - an honest Democrat. She’s probably on the Lieberman list now.

T think Blacks got their greatest boost when RWR was president.
she doesn't want anyone to feel alienated or offended.
I guess I'm not "anyone."

What I find interesting is that this "Masslib" is a treacherous weasel who would publicize a private email exchange without permission. Someone like that should never be trusted or respected by anyone:
"Im making these e-mails public not just because I dont want to see her on CNN, but because with rumors afoot of her aspirations to be DNC Chair if Obama becomes the nominee, I think its important that Democrats see what they would be in for. While I appreciate her willingness to correspond with me, what you can see in these excerpts is an individual who doesnt have the political savvy to communicate with the public (keep in mind I was an anonymous stranger when she wrote to me) in an appropriate and pro-Party fashion. You can see that she has no problem creating inferences that Hillary Clinton is a racist. You can see that she feels she has no responsibility to stand up against sexism. And you can see most shockingly that she resents Democrats for leaving her out in the cold since managing Al Gores losing 2000 campaign, finding the highest praise not for those in the Party she aspires to lead, but for Republicans. Without further ado, here are some choice excerpts from our exchange. (view emails in their entirety here). Draw your own conclusions."

"And if I counted who has helped me since 2000, it's Republican men and not Democrats.Sometime ago I read that she and Karl Rove talked regularly. Although they differ in basic political philosophy, they have great mutual respect for each other's talents and abilities.

Brazile should have been DNC Chairman instead of Howard Dean. God knows she would have sorted out that mess by now and gotten one of the candidates out of the race. Republican men in corporate America have helped her get speaking gigs for thousands of dollars and TV appearances. Democrats were ready to throw her out with the laundry after Al Gore’s defeat in 2000.

Woman’s got a ton of common sense.
She really is more conservative than she’d like to admit.

And if I counted who has helped me since 2000, it's Republican men and not Democrats. Amazing the 'awakenings' the Clinton-Obama War has facilitated.
But of course, like the story of 'Awakenings' itself. . .these glimpses of truth, can just as easily collapse back into the 'frozen sleep' that we know these Democrats rest in.
