Please FReepmail me if you would like to be added to, or removed from, the Michelle Malkin ping list...
Already discussed, freeped, apologized for, really apologized for, and ad campaign pulled.
“Already discussed”
Aw, come on dude, one more round for the bar.
In an Absolut world.
Hope those in Sweden understand this is not meant to be offensive.
Ah, the good old days!
Wha Wha Wha!?
You werent supposed to see that!!!!
Sorry, just being informative, not critical.
Anyone familiar with “Iceberg”?
Please don’t apologize. Yes, most of us know the story, but there’s new (?) data with every new story. What I liked about this write-up is what the bar owner decided to do. I liked it for 2 reasons:
a. It reinforced what we already know about the entrepreneurial skill of Americans. When I first came to this country, the ‘Firsts’ bothered me - First Lutheran Bank, First Methodist Church, etc. and I asked myself, “What the heck kind of nationalistic megalomania is this?” Now, older, wiser, capitalist and American, I realize that it is when one strives to be first in whatever enterprise that he creates a wake that pulls several others forward. And I salute it. I love that the bar owner has a long-term plan to make Ketel One the recepient of his efforts and our goodwill and cash.
b. He reminded Absolut that they are there and we are here. We are Americans. We will take care of us and of you. You just stay right where you are.
Thank you for your post.
Someone said also a map of France with swastikas all over it.
In an Absolut World
[for Hitler]
Gotta send that over to Sweden and see if they might be perhaps slightly offended.
“Obviously, this ad was run in Mexico, and not the U.S. that ad might have been very different.
It’s seldom that you catch a liberal being so open about what they habitually do: speak out of different sides of their mouths to different audiences, and use their leverage with the Leftwing Press to prevent the wrong audience from hearing the wrong side.
If not for the internet, this Absolut ad wouldn’t have crossed the border, literal or metaphorical. Certainly the Leftwing Press would not have reported it. As Malkin suggests, the Leftwing Press is deeply committed to pretending that this whole business doesn’t exist, except in the minds of paranoid right wingers.
It’s easy to remember....Never drink Absolut vodka.
Love the map. They should use it in their next ad and announce they are changing their name to “Absolut-Quisling Vodka”.
An Abolut improvement.:-)
The hour is indeed late. I war just evicted from my home on the basis of lies told by illegals in open court. The gringo must go! Down the road a restaurant named Azatlan will give you a dose of genuine unwelcomeness as you peruse through the business cards up front. Anyone want to hire “Reconquista Concrete Work”?
Owner claims Azatlan is just a city in Mexico, but that town is so tiny it took me hours to find it on a map.
One illegal offerred to show the judge his driver’s license. There is no end to the gall.
The truth is, it was a slick marketing ploy that would have sold Absolut mucho bottles of alcohol had they not been busted.
VERY easy to remember. A couple years ago, we started buying FRIS vodka, product of Denmark, to support that country during the whole Muslim cartoon debacle. Recently found out that FRIS vodka is an Absolut vodka product as well!
It seems an alternative was under our noses the whole time, Made in the USA SKYY Vodka:
Are you in California?
The shocking thing is that this is what our elected officials, the guys we put in charge, want! They want to turn the US into Mexico - that underachieving country?
This is NUTS!
