By cramming all these well-meaning proposals into electric bills, we may be creating more problems than were solving, said TURN Executive Director Mark Toney.

Our five Governor-appointed Commissioners, as well as our staff, are dedicated to ensuring that consumers have safe, reliable utility service at reasonable rates, protecting against fraud, and promoting the health of California's economy. Someone needs to sue them for failing to perform their sworn duties.

In CA if you are below a certain income level, you won’t be affected by rate increases. Protecting the poor, you know.

That's the beauty of how this thing is financed -- they simply stick a charge on your utility bill. It doesn't come out of the state's budget and it isn't a "tax."
As a famous author once said...
O, be some other name!
What's in a name? that which we call a rose
By any other name would smell as sweet;
Or, in this case, "...that which we call a 'stinkin' pantload', By any other name would smell as fetid and rotten"

Ripley could probably profit from this as well.

Shouldn't global warming be proved before millions of dollars are committed to the solutions of a theory? It's really gonna get interesting when the climate actually starts cooling instead of warming. I wonder what the institute will study then?

Money for stem cell, money for illegals, money for this nonsense, but basic services, education, and infrastructure, sorry, we’re fresh out.
To: NormsRevenge
Undecided is where the new institute will be located... Well, that's easy - tell 'em to stick where the Sun doesn't shine

I wonder why the people who are going to pay for this nonsense didn’t get a chance to vote.

California will establish a high-profile, $600 million research center then the state will finally break off from the mainland continent and fall directly into the Pacific Ocean.

The money will come from ratepayers of the state's major utilitiesFine by me. As always, the people deserve exactly what they vote for.

Californians are forcibly mugged to pay for a hoax based on junk science.

Isn't California having major budgeting problems?
What am I overlooking? That the only ones heard at the level of the Legislature are state employees, other government employees and welfare recipients.
According to those groups, we aren't paying enough taxes.
The actual taxpayers aren't complaining. If they don't complain, they must approve.
