WASHINGTON, (AP) -- Public approval of President Bush has reached a new low in the Associated Press-Ipsos poll, driven by dissatisfaction with his handling of the economy.
A survey released Thursday showed just 28 percent approve of the overall job he is doing. . . .

Liberals have always hated him. Conservatives feel betrayed by him. Yeah, 28% isn’t too bad under those circumstances. The AssPress assumes that means 72% support for the other party - at least, that’s what they want to convince the voters of.
Always remember that ipso means lying sack of shiite in french.
Why the f**k anybody on FR would believe anything from an AP/Ipsos poll is beyond me.
Sometimes the student body here just amazes me...
Just for starters...Where would Carter rank in your list?...Contrary to what you may think, W has accomplished alot. Mistakes?...sure, BUT Carter sucked period.
Well, maybe he tied Carter. But for all his foibles, Carter didn;t let a Mexican army cross out borders unopposed (probably because there wasn’t any) but Carter and Bush are birds of a feather.
Gallup has him at 28%, too. Since WWII, only Jimmy Carter, Richard Nixon, and Harry Truman have polled as low.
Gallup huh? I’m sold...
Fox has him at 30%. Pew at 28%. Other’s have him at around 28%. This is not a popular president. The pollsters aren’t making this stuff up. They asked the same question they’ve been asking for years. People just don’t think he’s doing a good job.
They do what they see and hear........
When 95% of the DBM / MSM is continually bashing a politician...they are going to follow the herd.
Very good
Amen!
Last month Ras had him in the high 30’s. Nobody cares about Bush anymore, why would his numbers fall so fast?
Last month Ras had him in the high 30s. Nobody cares about Bush anymore, why would his numbers fall so fast?Maybe because he still has 9 months left as president and nobody cares about him. He's not doing anything to approve of.
Somehow I doubt that! I think some of them left because they couldn’t stand the bashers anymore!
That doesn’t make any sense. The only reason at this point to do a push poll on Bush is to tie him to McCain.
Last gasp stuff, in my opinion.
I voted for Bush in two presidental elections and campaigned for him. I have been a registered Republican since 1980,
Ask yourself: Is America better off today than when he took office? Is it better today than when his father took office, or Clinton took office? Its been downhill since Reagan.
Aside from two Supreme Court Justices and the response to 9-11 and a few other things he has been pretty much of a disappointment and even one of the Supreme Court Justices was secured under duress.
The best you can say for Bush is he isn’t Gore or Kerry, and the best you can say for McManiac is he isn’t Obama or Clinton. The best you say for Bush I was he wasn’t Dukakis.
And frankly, Republicans and Americans deserve better than that - it isn’t enough anymore.
That doesnt make any sense. The only reason at this point to do a push poll on Bush is to tie him to McCain. This wasn't a push poll - this was a standard presidential approval poll that these polling organizations have done on a regular basis for decades.
Well what I’d like to ask you is, in all due respect, why did you vote for him twice? If you suddenly just turned against him, I can’t imagine why you didn’t know what he stood for before you supported him! Maybe you yourself changed?
And, once again, I am being forced to select the less odious of two alternatives - McCain or Obama/Hillary.
Its past time I and conservatives like me, cease being forced to choose between the lesser of two unpalatable alternatives. Its time to either take back the Republican Party from the Limousine Liberals (unlikely at this point) or strike out and create an effective alternative to the anti-American Bolsheviks in the Democrat Party and the one-world globalist international corporate interests which have shanghaied the Republican Party.
