SAN ANGELO, Texas Teenage girls, often younger than 16, were required to have sex in the soaring white temple after they were married in sect-recognized unions at a polygamist compound in West Texas, according to court documents unsealed Wednesday.
The temple "contains an area where there is a bed where males over the age of 17 engage in sexual activity with female children under the age of 17," said an affidavit quoting a confidential informant who left the Fundamentalist Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.

“Do not even attempt to link the FLDS to either the Amish or the Mennonites. I know many Amish, and they do not have multiple wives, nor do the Amish put their 14 daughters into the beds of 50 year old perverts. Amish youth are permitted and encouraged to leave the family and live amongst the English to see if they trully want to live their adult lives as their parents have. No...the Amish are NOTHING like this group of welfare cheating, pedophiles.”
Well said.
It is vile to try to compare the Amish or Mennonites with this vile, sin sick, evil sect.
"I always knew them creepy southun white churches was cults"/s
Is this group tied to the Family of God global cult?
At least 2 or 3 Hollyweirdos grew up in that sex cult (including River Phoenix).
These sort of tragedies turn up now and again in the public spotlight. I just wonder why they are national stories?
The woman who was enslaved by a Colorado Saudi couple as slave deserved much more coverage. They ended up paying her like 5-10k back pay even though I believe that she was made to perform sexual services as well as housework and even loaned out to do work for others without pay.
So children who are citizens do not have the same protection under the Constitution as adult citizens just because they are in school or school age?
I didn’t realize that attending school meant a forfeiture of my children’s Constitutional rights. Where’s that in the Constitution?
SCOTUS may have ruled it, but it’s still wrong because then you have schools doing strip searches of little girls for no reason; because they don’t have any Constitutional rights.
The government would love to have a preconditioned nation of sheep in a couple decades and getting them while their young is the way to start. Then they don’t even KNOW they have any.
There is no factual evidence that anyone could show you, because of your previously conceived biases.
Obviously, you are using examples in your own life and extrapolating that into a situation involving other people, who you have never known personally.
You should never be a member of a jury.
Agreed.
I certianly disagree with LDS doctrine but there just isnt any comparison.
Oh no. I wasn't comparing them to the mainstream LDS and didn't mean to give that impression. I was just saying that that the verses are probably at least a partial reason for being afraid of black folks.
Hey, they ain't from here!
I think the constant harassment of religious conservatives makes us sensitive to the idea any action against a group referring to itself as a religion, particularly one calling itself a Christian religion.
But if you have been following the actions of the FLDS as long as I have (over a decade now) you have probably been wondering why, exactly, nothing was being done to protect the children.
We always wonder about things done “for the children” but, sometimes, there is a need to act. I know you have no reason to trust or believe me, but I will tell you that the massive amounts of information I have seen on the FLDS shows that this is far from a witch hunt.
I still think they should have been nailed for the welfare and tax fraud they’ve committed for decades, which would have made their activity financially unsupportable, and which is entirely undeniable.
I never said I believed it was a witch hunt. I only stated that it felt like one.
Theres a lot of folks that want a hangin. The same folks who would give predatory female teachers a pass.
I want justice. If these Clowns are guilty of that which they are accused of, they should pay a higher price than a common rapist, because they abused their position of authority in order to do the deed.
This church is much more horrible compared to Obama’s. It’s raid is a blessing for Obama and his dearly beloved reverend mentor. They should both be on their knees giving praise to this church and to the authorities who raided it.
Since thru this church, Obama and Wright have been redeemed.
Good job CNN. Good job Obama campaign. High fives for all.
Tied?...Only in spirit, only in spirit.
Yes, it is interesting that the Saudi’s in the US who have enslaved young women and have mistreated them by all kinds of abuse are never made mention of in the MSM.
What is the legal drinking age in your State?
It is slavery and concubinage. Don't fool yourself that it isn't. These females have no lives of their own. They're merely property and sex toys for these perverts. Nothing nearly as respectable as marriage.
It could just be for some practical help with motherhood. I don't think any 12 or 13 year old girl is prepared to be a mother.
The other potential reason is that these people were removed from the only existence they have ever known. I doubt that more than a very few believe they were "saved" by the police. They are probably resentful of the police intrusion into their lives and are putting up a little passive resistance by giving confusing and contradictory statements.
Amazing isn’t it, how some feel the need to lie about other religions in an order to validate their own, or one they think is good?
Comparing Amish and Mennonites to Polygamist cults. AMAZING.
If you have with sex with someone other than your spouse, in those religions, you are kicked out of the church.
Rant off....
Somewhere in this mess, there was a huge, willful dereliction of maternal duty...the mothers’ mothers, perhaps?
Longer than that, and not any different from Joseph Smith, et al.
Cordially
The FLDS, Mennonites and Amish have only one thing in common.
Ugly clothes. Thats it!
