SAN FRANCISCO - Officials say the planned closing ceremony for the Olympic torch at the San Francisco Bay waterfront is canceled and another one will take place at an undisclosed location.
The ceremony had been slated to take place Wednesday at Justin Herman Plaza, where thousands had gathered to support and protest the Beijing-bound flame's visit to the city.
Just before the relay began, the torch was rerouted about a mile away from the demonstrators and spectators. Officials say they changed the path because of security concerns.
San Francisco Mayor Gavin Newsom tells The Associated Press that a closing ceremony will still take place, but he would not specify where.
Oh they were — CHINESE Olympic Committee officials.
America's answer to "muslim boy?"

"... going to get???"
The Olympics are getting more and more political each time it is held. Time to scratch the torch running anyway. If you really must have a torch, make it a direct run from Mount Olympus to the site instead of going all around the world. As Limbaugh pointed out in his program yesterday, the torch ceremony is not exactly traditional, having originated with Hitler’s 1936 Olympic coordinator who thought it had the right drama in keeping with the Wagnerian heroic mythology theme Hitler favored. How much this little demonstration will cost Californians is probably mind-blowing.

Gavin Newsom is a chicken$h!t.
Unfortunately, that seems to be the reality as well.
That dude looks like the same kook that screams at veteran’s funerals, at loggers, at people who wear fur, who happen to be military requiters, or even, *gasp* republicans.
The picture is worth a thousand words, and the Tibetans could have no worse advocate.
Can we put San Francisco up on Ebay or something? Surely somebody would take it off our hands.
Let’s just build a wall around it and cut off Government funding.
You got that right.....saw on FOX this morning that security in SF was at the same level as for a visit by a Head of State.
I think today we had the fascinating situation where the crowd waving the Communist flags didn't give a fig about Communism and the crowd waving the "Free Tibet" flags didn't give a fig about freedom and democracy. The Chinese were motivated by national pride and the anti-Chinese just couldn't find a good Bush-hating rally to go to. ;)
Huh?
It looks fine to me. What are you seeing?
Gee, they looked more like PLA to me :)

That’s weird. I have the same Firefox, and this thread looks fine. However, on my Ping list, the post right under this post 1 is just like your example.
John, are we not supposed to use Align in the IMG tags?
Sorry to bother you John, false alarm, I have a .js file I use with FR.com and it is the .js file not updated to the new schema that is causing the problems. I turned off the .js files and all is well.
Of all the olympics that had politics, this one in China is going to have politics blooming full flower.
