SAN FRANCISCO - Demonstrators amassed on the citys waterfront Wednesday before the start of the Olympic torchs only stop in North America, and law enforcement officers attempted to prevent a reprise of the chaotic demonstrations that have followed the flame along its journey to Beijing.
The relay is scheduled to start at 1 p.m. PT, and officials have decided that two runners now will share the torch, thus likely shortening the duration of the event, NBC News reported.
The torchs 85,000-mile, 20-nation global journey is the longest in Olympic history, and is meant to build excitement for the games. But it has also been a target for activists angered over Chinas human rights record, prompting officials to warn they might make a last-minute change to the relay route.

Kinda have to side with the SF Loonies on this one.
Wonder how many planeloads of people the PRC flew in to SF?
And you’ll note that the Olympics won’t be taking place in Islamabad anytime soon. lol
The Chinese usually sneak them in using sea-land vans...
Do not doubt the Chinese Embassy is calling up their contacts and connections with student organizations, immigrant groups, etc... Notice all the red flags? The statements are quite uniform also. It all took quite a bit of organizing.
It appears to be the case by the belligerent nature of the Pro-PRC people:
Farther along the route, about 200 Chinese college students mobbed a car carrying two people waving Tibetan flags in front of the citys Pier 39 tourist destination. The students, who arrived by bus earlier in the morning from the University of California, Davis, banged drums and chanted Go Olympics in Chinese.

San Francisco is 20% Chinese, and many are PRC supporters - not Communists, just "my country, right or wrong" types.
I agree. An Asian with a camera is pretty suspicious.
Just kidding now.
I gotta wonder, with some of the quotes I’ve been seeing from pro-PRC “engineers” and so forth in Silicon Valley, and others brought in by the Chinese embassy, if these aren’t folks that the FBI ought to take a look at.
