Hillary Clinton has waged a campaign based, in large measure, on her national security experience. Her so-called "Day One" readiness. Indeed, she says plainly on the campaign trail that "We need a candidate that can go toe-to-toe with John McCain on national security."
Recently the Clinton campaign released a portion Sen. Clinton's White House daily activity logs. These logs provide the first independent means to evaluate her claim that her White House years provided her the relevant national security/commander-in-chief experience to be president.
A preliminary analysis of these logs has begun to reveal Mrs. Clinton's claims of experience to be overstated. If these logs continue to bear out that she is less experienced than she has claimed, she will, at best, be branded as an exaggerator. She then will face an onslaught that will make the Gore and Kerry attacks look like a walk in the park.
On a related point, Mrs. Clinton has been arguing to primary voters that she is more electable than Barack Obama because "she has been vetted fully so there will be no general election surprises." Well, the recently released tax returns appear to undermine this argument as well.
Specifically, these returns demonstrate the former President Clinton made tens of millions of dollars on the speaking circuit and by helping to broker business deals or make introductions around the world. This is his prerogative as a private citizen. What the returns do not tell us, however, is who paid for these speeches; who his clients were/are; whether he can unwind his business relationships (he is being sued by one of his clients for fraud in state court in California); what conflicts of interest or appearances of conflict reside in his seven-year, private-sector career.

Mr. Zeldin is the former independent counsel who investigated the tampering with Bill Clinton's passport. He is a part-time volunteer for the Obama campaign in the primary cycle.
The Chinese, duh.
I'm Shocked, SHOCKED!
” seven year private sector career?”
He hasn’t done anything in the private sector, other than accept bribes and introduce dirty money people to his “business” partner so the money can be laundered back to him.
> A preliminary analysis of these logs has begun to reveal Mrs. Clinton’s claims of experience to be overstated.
I am shocked. SHOCKED!
> If these logs continue to bear out that she is less experienced than she has claimed, she will, at best, be branded as an exaggerator.
Hillary? An exaggerator?... do you mean that she might be telling LIES??? Say it ain’t so!
> She then will face an onslaught that will make the Gore and Kerry attacks look like a walk in the park.
(sob!) Leave Hillary alone! Leave her ALONE! (sob!) She’s had a child, and she’s not well! (snif!) Anyone who picks on Hillary will have to deal with ME!
This was a very insightful piece. Glad you posted it and shared it with the FREEP Nation. “Brand Hillary” is in much worse shape than Exaggerator Gore and very close to John “Flip-Flop” Kerry. I can’t imagine her winning a general election.
Brand Obama has it’s own problems (see the Lanny Davis article) but there’s also probably a lot of “white guilt” voters willing to look the other way if he’s the candidate.
Is the guy afraid to name Paul v Clinton or HILLARY! UNCENSORED
To buy into "Brand Hillary" requires a willing suspension of disbelief.
This is too funny...... the public and media should not need new info to know that Shrillary is a vicious, deeply dishonest, incompetent bozo. The only reason she has any semblance of a political career is b/c few in the MSM every bother to give any critical attention to her entire sordid career to date. She would never get elected dog catcher if more people understood how many lies she has told (so many of them under oath to forestall legal liabilities in her constant stream of malfeasance). Now that Obama is the darling of the media some of the Hildebeast’s lies are being exposed, but she is still treated with kid gloves.
After the Rev. Wright ordeal Osama I mean Obama is darn near unelectable.
Almost hit it right on the head.
What is properly requires is a mindset that allows such a thing to occur, with only the barest ruminants of plausible deniability as cover, and that already has arrived.
Anyone but Bush
>the public and media should not need new info to know that >Shrillary is a vicious, deeply dishonest, incompetent bozo...
They certainly know all of that, but this statement encapsulates the current mindset, and explains in part, the doublethink needed to defend a hillary:
Anyone but any republican
And I mean that. - The dems would rather have a Castro/Chavez ticket win than any and all GOP partisans.
I watched The Beastly Beast slandering Petraeus, Crocker and the troops yesterday and I kept fantasizing to myself Petraeus and Crocker ducking every once in a while, murmuring “watch out, sniper fire”, and “incoming!”, and “hit the deck!”...but alas, it was only my fantasy.
Nice... good “re-turn” of a phrase!
Thanks for pointing out that the author is a Barak supporter. They’re a nasty bunch.
Mrs. Clinton is the best the Democrat party has today though it’s difficult for her to get across to certain audiences. George Lakoff, professor at Berkeley who has done interesting work on personality types and political parties pointed out that she’s a Meyers-Briggs INTJ. Few women are (I’m one of them), and few Dems are. So she has a lot of problems communicating with her base.
You can check out Lakoff (a lib but a smart one) and listen to an interesting talk here: http://www.politicaltypes.com/content/view/24/56/
