President Bush: “I will veto any legislation that weakens current Federal policies and laws on abortion”

Rice: “I would NOT want to see the current law changed”

Those are EXACTLY the same positions.

Bush: “I felt like [Roe] was a case where the court took the place of what the legislatures should do in America”

Rice: ‘She said she would not want the [federal] government “forcing its views” on abortion’

Exactly the same positions. The other two quotes are just vague platitudes.

And that’s using your own quotes and sources.

Only in your bizarro world does an admitted, unapologetic pro-life candidate have "exactly the same views" as an admitted, unapologetic, pro-choice candidate, who, in her own words, calls pro-lifers "the other side". Bush has NEVER called himself pro-choice and referred to pro-life activists as "the other side"

Rice has explictly pointed out the only types of abortion she would stop is partial-birth and late-term abortions. Her exact words. She has pointed out over and over again she is fine with the "existing laws" on first and second trimester abortions and would not change them. Bush, on the other hand, has explictedily said he would support legislation to end all abortion expect in cases of rape, incest, or to save the life of the mother. His words. Rice has never supported that. The only reason she says she's happy with what the President has done thus far is the only legislation he's been able to get passed into law dealth with federal funding of abortion and banning partial-birth abortion.

If you're fine with Rice's "mildly pro-choice" platform, fine, you have the right to state your views that conservatives should accept a politician who agrees with them on ending late term abortion. But if you continue to post these outright lies that a pro-choice candidate has "the exact same views" as a pro-life candidate, I'll have to report you to the mods. We don't allow that kind of disruptive garbage on FR, anymore than if you were going to hijack a second amendment thread and try to sell us on a gun-control politician having the exact same position as a gun-rights politician.

Rice is pro-choice and Bush is pro-life. They have admitted it publicly. Those are the FACTS. Give it up.
