Condi Rice has stated she is "mildly" pro-choice. Since WHEN did Bush run as a "mildly pro-choice" candidate? News to me. Please feel free to cite the exact time and place he proclaimed the "exact same position" as Rice.
Bush would relutantly ALLOW (not favor) abortion in cases of rape, incest, and to save the LIFE of the mother. He does not and never has favored abortion for so-called "health reasons" of the mother. He is thus pro-life in 95% of cases and has always run as an openly pro-life candidate. Indeed, he turned out to be surprisedly more pro-life than I expected and has staunchly opposed using embroys for stem cell search.
Condi Rice supports legal abortion for most circumstances but oppose late term and partial birth-abortion. She would allow unlimited abortion is probably over 2/3rds of the cases where it came up. Thus she decribes herself as "mildly" pro-choice, because she's not as rabidly pro-abortion as the ghouls as NARAL who favor killing 9-month full developed unborn babies and abortion in every single circumstance.
