If these taxes are not in place before the whole theory is exposed as a complete fraud, the taxes may never come into existence, and the UN will have to find a new reason to establish global governance. And that is the real tragedy they want to avoid and why their screams are getting louder and louder.

I don’t care - I’m putting my faith in Al Gore to save me from the weather. I don’t know how he’s going to do it, but I’m sure he’ll figure out a way. I mean if he can show up in dressed all in black like them Hollywood fellers, and if he can make one of them moving pictures, then I’m sure he can figger out a way to keep the weather in check.

When I was a graduate student at the University of Colorado, I was one of many “slave labor” researchers feeding data to the Institute of Arctic and Alpine Research as well as the National Center for Atmospheric Research. Stephen Schneider held sway at NCAR back then and he had a new toy: a supercomputer and a brand new Global Circulation Model (GCM). The data and the model back in those halcyion days pointed to a New Ice Age, something geologists (as I was)was most likely to conform to the geologic record.
One big problem with the GCM was that data for the circulation of the ocean currents was woefully incomplete. Data collection had largely ended when steam powered ships replaced sailing vessels. Hydrographic surveys were critically important in the Age of Sail, but lost military and commericial importance upon arrival of steam powered vessels. The GCM’s used data largely collected before 1860. No matter, the model produced the result that everyone wanted: A new ice age was imminent.
Upon the collapse of Communism, the lunatic left needed a refuge. They found it in the Environmental movement, but the GCM and the climate predictors were out of phase with a theory that the leftists needed to advance their cause. No problem, just tweak the data and get the result needed by the new cult. Global warming is a cult. Facts do not matter, and this new information on what is actually happening in our oceans will have no effect on the cultists.

It's taken me more sentences than that to try to explain models to associates, who always seem to think that model-builders are proferring Black Boxes and Prophecies. I always wind up saying, "It's a picture" or, "It's a map, not reality," or "It's a logical proposition of expected outcomes based on certain assumptions...."

Bad time to be asking for a new tax or fee.
