'Airline terror plot': The bomb-making plan (in Great Britain)

'Airline terror plot': The bomb-making plan

The plotters planned to hide explosives in bottles of soft drink and hollowed-out AA batteries and detonate them using a disposable camera, the court heard.

Jurors were told that the home-made bombs could have been made from everyday items and chemicals that were readily available.

The main explosive agent was hydrogen peroxide, a favorite for terrorists, it was alleged.

In an intricate twist, the conspirators would have used a syringe to remove the liquid from 500ml plastic bottles of Oasis and Lucozade and replace it with the explosive mixture.

Food dye would have been added to mimic the original drink and the bottle would have been re-sealed using superglue.

Peter Wright, QC, prosecuting, said: “The top of the bottle would appear to be sealed, creating the illusion of an unopened and everyday item.”……(Telegraph)

Bombs to murder innocent airline passengers? ... The religion of ‘Pieces’ at work again. Ain’t Islam grand?

Right. These guys are "British".

The answer is really simple. The Muslims live on their side of the planet and we live on ours. Maybe we trade.

But we don't live together, and they definitely don't travel with us.

And if it won't work that way, then let's just have the war and do it right, no half-assed like now.

Now the TSA will be on the look-out to confiscate batteries.

The faces of Islam: soulless ghouls. Coincidentally, the word ghoul has a meaning of: "An evil spirit or demon in Muslim folklore believed to plunder graves and feed on corpses." How fitting.

Agreed. We need to stop their immigration and return the ones already here. One problem though, the elites who run our country are on the mohammedans payroll, the business elites trade with them and the economy needs their oil, not as easy as it sounds. However, if we seek to elect the right people in the first place, change the laws and kick the tree huggers out and drill here as well as find alternative sourcs of energy, we might be able to make this a reality....I am not sure when that will all happen and in the right order. If I were British, I would vote to make these naughty mohammedan boys targets for sniper training and give them a running chance somewhere out on the moors....

Ugly things like that should be dropped from airplanes over shark-infested waters.

This is chilling! Thank God they were seized before they could carry out their plot.

Here's some background info for anyone who is new to this story:
Airline terror plotters planned bigger 9/11

From the article:
The conspirators had selected seven flights to six destinations in the United States and Canada for their murderous plot, the court heard.

The seven flights were:

14.15 United Airlines flight 931 to San Francisco
15.00 Air Canada flight 849 to Toronto
15.15 Air Canada flight 865 to Montreal
15.40 United Airlines flight 959 to Chicago
16.20 United Airlines flight 935 to Washington
16.35 American Airlines flight 131 to New York
16.50 American Airlines flight 91 to Chicago

"Holy Bomb Batteries Batman! -- Now the TSA will be on the look-out to confiscate batteries."

They most likely will. They've already prohibited bottled drinks purchased outside the terminals.

Here's something interesting... On our last flight to Vegas from KCI my carry-on was searched because I had a small 4" portable curling iron (my daughter's, long story). A friend with us found after we arrived in our Vegas hotel he inadvertently had brought 4 shot-gun shells in his carry-on. The last time he'd used that bag was on a hunting trip. KCI never questioned him. Maybe because I was in front of him and they were worried about the curling iron. I don't know. It just seems to me with all the enhanced security they would've found those shells. On the return trip he packed them in his checked baggage.

“This is chilling! Thank God they were seized before they could carry out their plot.”

The story is a good reminder that we have to catch them every time in every plot they hatch, they only have to be successful once in a while to cause mass casualties. I hope the next administration is as diligent in keeping this type of possible destruction out of the U.S.. I pray they will.

A friend of mine is a retired Army Ranger and h carries a ceramic knife. It's never shown up.

I'm waiting the TSA to implement this:
