I’m in the middle of proofing the second copy of the manuscript from the publisher now, so the book should be available later this year. In the meantime, thanks for visiting!

Actually the chief of staff for the IDF has referred to the Durze in the IDF as modern day Macabees

I thought your homepage was interesting, too.
Hmmm, what would klezmer ska didgeridoos sound like? The mind reels.
Good luck with your publication.

Well, I do have a song in my music collection that combines Hebrew lyrics with a didgeridoo: “Kiddush Le Shabbat” by The Covenant. Until I can find something that combines a ska beat, that will do.

So “glat kosher” is a step above (past?) the standard “kosher”?
And, I guess then, a few steps/requirements above and beyond the difference(s) between reform and traditional Jewish worship?

“Glatt kosher” actually means an animal that has been ritually slaughtered, whose internal organs have been found to be perfectly healthy (”glatt” = “smooth” in Yiddish).
The expression has come to mean anyone or anything whose integrity is beyond reproach.
