Looks like a Gar - plentiful down here in Louisiana - a bottom-feeding trash fish. Ours have longer snouts. Don't tell my mother. She 'invented' garfish balls, (made of fork flaked garfish meat) because she would not throw away anything she had caught. Not too bad.
