On the contrary, their appeasement of separatist activities would only encourage the Dalai Lama and his supporters to drift further away from the negotiations table and resort to more violence and terror.

Negotiating? Communists negotiate at the point of a bayonnet.

The so-called “Dalai Clique” - is Buddhism.

The most peaceful religion, in the history of earth.

China is way, way overextended on propaganda this time.

Shame on the Olympic committee for selecting China in the first place.

China must be pressured to observe the civil rights of its citizens and conquered territories. Few events in history have ever given the world a chance to unite and stand against this behemoth country. I hope there are Olympians that will wear the flag of Tibet or carry the picture of the Dalai Lama. China spent billions on the Olympics and wants to show off. Perfect opportunity to change minds because China has a bright spotlight on it and doesn’t want the world to notice any trouble.

The Olympics are a farce if they go on as planned in China.
This would be equal to having them in Nazi Germany.
OH YEAH, they did have the Olympics as a tribute to Hitler didn’t they?

Hey world, where is your outrage?

Why would anyone want to go to China anyway?

I don’t think that anyone expects it to. However, refusing to attend would be an indication on the part of President Bush that the crackdown does not enjoy international support. But since the President is going to be there, then that is an indication that at least one global power doesn’t care what China does to its internal dissenters.

Lobbyist and activists who serve anti-China plots might gloatingly, but mistakenly, think they have found a soft rib in China when Tibetan riots coincidentally occurred dramatically with the approaching of the Beijing Olympic Games.

The writer sounds like he has also been writing copy for the North Koreans.

"Gloatingly", "soft rib", and "anti-China"? Not bad, but perhaps it could have done with a "running dog" and "splittist" or two in there. Or even a "paper tiger". ;-)

The ChiComs can't keep the torch lit, can't make Tibetans love being beaten and shot and can't lie very well either.

The 2008 ChiCom Olympics are going to suck.
