La Nina and PDO will drive cooler temps for a while ...

... but the AGW alarmists have the escuses all lined up, this is ‘hiding’ global warming as ‘variability’, but every warm weather event is not ‘variability’ but Global Warming.
The key is the long-term overall trend.
If this trend continues, then 2008 will be cooler for USA than some years in the 1930s.
Climate Realism: Global Warming due to CO2 is a real effect, actual warming due to CO2 has lower magnitude than IPCC model estimates, and AGW is not a crisis.

You are correct in your assessment, I believe, though I would point out that there are definite climate changes that will occur beyond temperature. These will lead to costs. For example, climate bands that move to areas out of synch with soils (soils take longer to develop than a new climate) will affect sensitive crops (e.g., wine grapes)--they can't just be "moved north."
And the effect will get worse as time goes on, even if it's below "crisis" levels.
But this also doesn't meant that crippling our industrial base is the way to go. There are other options--ones that improve our economies, rather than hamper them.
