KANDAHAR, Afghanistan — Another Canadian soldier has been killed in Afghanistan.
Pte. Terry John Street, 24, from Hull, Que., was killed when his vehicle hit an improvised explosive device.
Street was with the 2nd Battalion of the Princess Patricia’s Canadian Light Infantry, based in Shilo, Man.
The incident took place early Friday evening in the volatile Panjwaii district west of Kandahar city, long a hotbed of Taliban activity.
Brig.-Gen. Guy Laroche, the commander of Canadian forces in Afghanistan, says Canada’s presence in Afghanistan brings hope to its people.
Laroche says he hopes this comes as some comfort to the family of the dead soldier — the 82nd Canadian soldier to die in Afghanistan since 2002.

Prayers for a fallen warrior.
82...in how many years? Anybody know off hand how many we lost on D-Day?
Prayers lifted, Sandy..
*tears*
Hrm...seems I was too quick with the post button. I don’t want to belittle their accomplishment. I have one very good friend who is over there as a medic right now. Another one who is going over in the fall (soldier) and a few more who will be doing tours or already have. But the media needs to stop whining about this. Yes we’re losing lives over there, yes it’s a tragedy, but better over there than over here. If it were over here the numbers would be MUCH higher.

I was told, in no uncertain terms, that “Snopes says it isn’t true.”
Well, maybe. But the statistics have to come from SOMEwhere!
Which means that someone has the statistics.
And if Snopes says it’n untrue, how does “he” know that unless he has some figures to work with? And if he DOES have the figures, why doesn’t he publish them?
I loathe people who point out “Snopes” in hopes of an argument. What idiocy.

Thank you, Sir.
You feel the need to point something out to me that has already been pointed out, and something that I already SAID had been pointed out?
And your point would be....?
You’re a monkey face for forwarding an email.
Thank you for the compliment! May I have another? Or are you just inherently rude to other posters?
