I'm not calling you a liar, but what you said was false, and you mislead people. I think people are so eager to dismiss "loony conspiracy theories," that the truth sometimes seems to get lost in the shuffle.
No, Joe, I did not and AM NOT misleading people (unlike some people in this thread are doing).
I said, and I QUOTE: “I seem to recall he slammed into a tree doing about 45 miles an hour on skis, and there were several witnesses.”
I also said I doubled checked several articles and remember now that Kennedy died the same week. I was CONFUSING the two incidents. How about YOU read everything I said.
I NEVER said it was a fact, I said “I seem to recall” and I did. I also said I was wrong.
Don’t sit there and try to say I was “saying something false”. I didn’t say ANYTHING THAT WAS FALSE. I was relying on my memory of something that happened in 1986, three years before I left the service of White House. Sonny Bono wasn’t someone I really paid much attention to, and I “caught the news” like anyone else did in those days, in 3 minute segments, at night, IF I HAD TIME.
So give it a rest.
