Need to see a picture of the wife to determine if she was worth it.

All kidding aside, good for him. Not many guys actually get to demonstrate the “fight wild animals” part of the comittment.

He leapt onto the large reptile's back, gouging at its eyes with his fingers trying to free his wife.

C'mon, all you have to do is rub their bellies.

Police have said the heroism of her husband almost certainly saved her. He leapt onto the large reptile's back, gouging at its eyes with his fingers trying to free his wife. Eventually, after a brief but almighty struggle, the animal relented.

Almost certainly saved her life? Nice to know cops in Australia are not any smarter than cops in the US of A. Even a half wit with half a brain would not have used the word almost.

***Last week, police in the Northern Territory opened fire on a crocodile as it closed in on a drunken man who had accepted a dare to swim in dangerous waters.***

Dang! He was so close to winning the coveted Darwin Award.
