| Ammunition Encoding Legislation Introduced in Alabama! |

Please Contact Your State Legislators Today! Last week, Senate Bill 541 was introduced by State Senator Rodger Smitherman (D-18). SB541 would require all handgun ammunition manufactured or sold in Alabama to be encoded with a serial number, and entered into a statewide database at the time of sale. Encoded ammunition would be registered to the purchaser and would include the date of transaction, the purchasers name, date of birth, drivers license number, and the serial number of the ammunition. All unserialized ammunition would have to be forfeited. Not only would this measure cause enormous increases in the cost of ammunition, but it could lead to the establishment of a database of ammunition purchaser and ultimately the cessation of the sale of ammunition in Alabama. SB541 poses a serious threat to our Right to Keep and Bear Arms and needs to be stopped immediately. Please contact your State Representative and State Senator and respectfully urge them to protect the Second Amendment rights of Alabamas law-abiding gun owners by opposing SB541. The gun grabbers can't stifle themselves. This is most of the the help that McRINO and the RNC is going to get this year, IMHO.
There is one company with proprietary equiptment and a lot of money behind this and the same legislation that keeps popping up in other states. Has to be.
It's all about buying legislators to force the technology and load the patent holder's pockets with cash. Once this gets approved and implemented in any state, there will be a steady cash flow to finance an endless campaign to push it everywhere.
I think this calls for a pre-emptive strike. Get your state legislators to outlaw this technology as a direct infringement on 2nd amendment rights.
I think they have lost 4 or 5 times already.
How stupid. If the bad guys steal the gun, ya think they won’t the ammo. Elected officials thinking up stuff to justify their existance. Where O where will it ever end.
Bwahahaha! This is the funniest thing I’ve heard in awhile.I LIVE in Alabama. No WAY,NO HOW,will this ever pass. You think LA is dangerous?Try telling an Alabama redneck that his ammunition is going to be encoded AND that he must surrender his uncoded ammo.Man,I almost wish it would pass, just to see them come and try to take the ammo.
There is no way in hell that this will ever pass in Alabama.
I grew up in Alabama and you are exactly right. I almost want to see these folks just try to take ammo from the country folk of Alabama.
I grew up and went to college in Alabama. Most of the Smithermans I knew were good ol' boys. His parents must be humiliated.
