They want to force parents to “volunteer” in schools they “force” the kids to attend.

When the Rats who dreamed up this scheme support school choice and vouchers for the parents who do want to be involved in their children’s education, then we can talk about what to do next.

Amendment XIII: Abolition of slavery
The Thirteenth Amendment was proposed on January 31, 1865, and ratified on December 6, 1865.

Section 1. Neither slavery nor involuntary servitude, except as a punishment for crime whereof the party shall have been duly convicted, shall exist within the United States, or any place subject to their jurisdiction.

Section 2. Congress shall have power to enforce this article by appropriate legislation.

Why can’t the sponsors and co-sponsors of this bill just be honest and use the word “obligation,” or “mandatory assignment,” etc., instead of using the word “volunteer?” WORDS HAVE MEANING, and you can’t just pick a word and use it to fit your need/definition, when it doesn’t.

“volunteer” is never by manadate. Involuntary servitude is banned by the US Constitution. Morons.

...legislators would feel entitled to confiscate our labor directly, instead of in addition to just taking a huge chunk of our wages like they're currently doing.

Tragically, there are no sanctions against those who conspire or intend to violate the Constitution. You’d think, wouldn’t you, that doing such a thing would at least get you thrown out of office, if not earn you some time in a correctional institution. But nope. Somehow, even though it’s “the highest law of the land” people who break it do so with impunity, while we peasants can expect to see the inside of prison cells for breaking much lesser laws.

If it were up to me, I’d close ALL public schools and leave the education up to their parents. I’m tired of society being one big daycare center.

The federal laws we do have against that aren’t enforced anymore, sadly.

I already pay the school board thousands of dollars each year through my property taxes, now they want me to work for them for free?!?!?

Don’t worry the law will be tweaked to avoid any slavery type demands. An added tax in lieu of service will be adopted.
