I've boiled this election down (personally) to two Hobson choices:

Briefly, if the Dems get in, we get a couple of disasters on the court but the GOP can block the worst of the legislation that might go through.

If McCain gets in, the judges might be somewhat decent, but will the GOP block any of McCain's crazy legislation? The Dims won't. They agree with him.

So I'm sitting here thinking about what's more important and which can do more permament or long-lasting damage: the courts or Congress. I don't like the choices. Then again, I'm in New York, so it's not like I'll really have an impact anyway -- except maybe in cyberspace.

I was thinking along the same lines also - until someone here posted that McCain voted to affirm Ginsberg, Kennedy, and Souter. So much for thinking he'd be for a conservative judge.
