Bobby Schindler speaks...

..................................

The decision to remove Terri Schiavo’s feeding tube is comparable in its inhumanity to the actions of the Nazis during World War II, Schiavo’s brother Bobby Schindler said before an audience of mostly students in Frist 302 last night.

Schiavo died in 2005 at age 41, two weeks after doctors, following orders from a federal judge, removed a feeding tube that had kept her alive for more than a decade.

Schiavo had previously suffered brain damage following an incident of cardiac arrest, which had deprived her brain of oxygen.

“There is no such thing as a person who is a non-person. There is no one so disabled that they have lost their value or dignity,” Schindler said, adding that classifying individuals as “non-persons” would be akin to “walk[ing] down the same path that led to the Nuremberg trials.”....................

Schindler: Schiavo was not in a vegetative state

Whatever...

.................................

I thought the conservative movement wanted less government influence in people's lives, yet over and over again they want government laws to tell you what to do. They do this by legislating morality.

From the federal Terri Schiavo's Law, to Rhonda Storm's intelligent design bill disguised as "academic freedom," to this abortion bill, conservatives want government control of your moral choice. It is getting to the point where I can't tell a conservative from a liberal. Both want all problems solved by government.

It is becoming difficult to vote for either party these days. Do I want the liberal government telling me what to do or the religious right "conservatives" making me live in the way they see fit?........

Another Move By Government To Legislate Morality

The decision to remove Terri Schiavo’s feeding tube is comparable in its inhumanity to the actions of the Nazis during World War II,

Actually, it was worse because the Nazis never made any pretense that they "loved" their victims or that they were just "following the wishes" of their victims.

Terri’s warriors never for a moment quit fighting because we all
believed in our hearts America would do the right thing
and rescue her from her tormentors.

Something died in our nation’s psyche the day Terri
succumbed to her murderers.
