pot calling kettle black.
Keep mixing up the Kool-Aid, Johnnie, that’s what you’re best at.
Every nickel? Do you presume to run the United States, or an extortion racket?
I think 10% per barrell would be a fine gesture on their part to repay us for liberating them.
Or, they could buy some jets. Just a thought.
To all Washington state rats and Bush haters, please repeat:
No blood for airplanes! Down with Boeing! Boeing is a death merchant!
I cannot hear you. Please say it louder so that this deal is cancelled.
Why is McCain running campaign ads in an Australian newspaper?
Americans in Australia? Americans reading Australian newspapers? Lot’s of reasons here.
I’d imagine that’s not a whole lot of voters, not enough to make a difference.
Why on Earth would you assume that isn't the case?
Hope this will increase the value of my Boeing stock.
Of course we are. Ten bucks says all of these transactions are negotiated in U.S. dollars -- which means Iraq does not have a national bank or even a national currency.
Not saying whether it's a good idea or not . . . but there's a reason why the U.S. dollar has declined against every other major world currency in the last few years.
The article doesn’t say what type of jets they will be purchasing. Do you have any idea what they are looking for?
From another article (AFP): “The Boeing contract was for the 737 and 787 ‘Dreamliner’ planes, the statement said, without giving a breakdown of the numbers of each.”
We should have confiscated the oil and sold it to highest bidder on the world markets. The nations who thought we were soooooo evil to attack Iraq would have forgiven us right quick. It’s too late, we were ‘compassionate’ about nation building while our own domestic economy was ignored. It’s too late to confiscate this now. Time will tell if we receive long-term benefits of an oil producing ally or if the Iraqi government cozies up to Iran out of fear. I guess it depends on how long we protect Bagdad and their border with Iran.
There was an article posted here on FR about a month ago talking about how the Kuwaiti government might seize these aircraft for reparations if they landed in Kuwait.
Nope. This is funded by GoI.
They are rebuilding their Airline.
This was first reported on six months ago when they did the first part of the deal. The funds are all Iraqi.
Which passenger plane? I didn’t see a model number but it must be an existing model if delivery is to begin this year.
MNJohnnie said: My guess is neither of you have any clue what you are talking about when it comes to Iraq.
Guess all those stories about the multi billion dollar oil contracts the Iraqis just signed with various oil companies got lost in noise from all the hysteric screaming from our so called "news" media about Mookies failed revolt.
I've had my share of "discussions" with Johnnie but he is right here, until you can prove we paid the tab here it is just plain stupid to imply otherwise. Iraq is recovering nicely, and I am sure they are using their own money to do this. It is a welcome shot in the arm for Boeing at any rate.
DID NORTHROP GRUMMAN GET TO BID ON THIS!?!?!?!?!?!
:-)
