How did your Earth Hour go? We didn't have one. We had Incoming Rockets, Take Cover, Take Cover, Take Cover Hour instead.
We always have to be different, ya know. ;-)

My husband and I enjoyed it so much, we want to try to do it weekly. I don't know if I can afford to do it weekly - turning on all the lights and electronics uses a lot of power.

The media sure made it out to be a success whatever that means.
Media also said we can expect more kinds of earth hour “successes” in the near future. Still had me scratching my head.
I guess ‘Idiocracy’ will be hailed as a prophetic masterpiece when Judd reissues the Blu-ray version.

Does anybody remember the short story by Isaac Asimov called
Nightfall?
It's about a planet with six suns, and the planet is illuminated on all sides perpetually. However, once every 2000 years the stars align on one side and darkness falls. The civilization goes into panic and destroys itself.

I sat with my lights on and watched another six inches of global warming fall.

I have a better idea.
On april 15th at midnite we all burn our income tax returns.
We could call it, say....FREEDOM HOUR!!

Excess Power Capacity on the grid! I turned every bloody electric device on! Idled the autos for an hour to keep Gaia warm and cozy! Yet, satellite data still shows global temperatures dropping.

On April 15th at midnite we all burn our income tax returns. Before or after the taxes are paid?
I'm jazzed about a freedom hour, but the thought of being behind bars while the lights go out for an hour is kinda creepy. Let's just say your idea needs some work 'around the edges'.

On a related note, just what technical qualifications does A. Gore (if you dont believe me, you think the world is flat) have to make him an expert on global warming? Why he's a divinity school flunkout and failed POTUS candidate. That makes him eminently qualified.

Erf Hour went great!!! We had a wave of light sweeping across the nation. I had to go out in the middle of it and noticed that ALL the cars on the road were in solidarity AGAINST the Global Warming Cult. Every single one of them had their lights on. I put on my high beams and got lots of salutes from the other cars as they flashed their brights at me! :)
Light On, brothers and sisters, Light On!
