Addressing civil rights activists in Selma, Ala., a year ago, Sen. Barack Obama traced his "very existence" to the generosity of the Kennedy family, which he said paid for his Kenyan father to travel to America on a student scholarship and thus meet his Kansan mother.
The Camelot connection has become part of the mythology surrounding Obama's bid for the Democratic presidential nomination. After Caroline Kennedy endorsed his candidacy in January, Newsweek commentator Jonathan Alter reported that she had been struck by the extraordinary way in which "history replays itself" and by how "two generations of two families -- separated by distance, culture and wealth -- can intersect in strange and wonderful ways."
It is a touching story -- but the key details are either untrue or grossly oversimplified.
Contrary to Obama's claims in speeches in January at American University and in Selma last year, the Kennedy family did not provide the funding for a September 1959 airlift of 81 Kenyan students to the United States that included Obama's father. According to historical records and interviews with participants, the Kennedys were first approached for support for the program nearly a year later, in July 1960. The family responded with a $100,000 donation, most of which went to pay for a second airlift in September 1960.

Also to razzle dazzle the public. I am just so disgusted at the whole thing. All show and no go is the key, and to be able to convince the public into beleiving everything they say. Quite Pathetic really. My God, what will be the future of all of us? In my opinion, it seems the body politic gets worse every cycle.
Obama didn’t mind throwing his grandmother under the bus. A quick trip around liberal blogs will show that they want to throw his father under the bus as well, blaming him for “passing on” an “inaccurate” account to his unsuspecting son.
Anyone wanting to see the speech can look here.

He also says in the speech that his parents got together and had him because of the Selma march. Even though he was born in 1961 and the march happened in 1965.
McCain suffered under Communism while Barack and Hillary espouse it.
“My God, what will be the future of all of us? In my opinion, it seems the body politic gets worse every cycle.”
Yes. It seems to be that way, and I don’t know what we the people can do about it.
But our politicians have always been the garbage of the earth from early on. I wonder at some level if it isn’t the Internet that has finally exposed all of this political filth.
For example, without the Internet, a lot of us would not have known about all the filth that has been exposed in just the past couple of month not to mention the past 16 years.
Just my thoughts.
Obama wants it both ways, has always wanted it both ways. Black and white, Indonesian and American, Muslim and Christian. He loves playing one off the other, using one to hide the other even as the traces of the truth may be assembled to reveal the whole cloth of deception and self-promotion he has been weaving so skillfully since his childhood. No wonder he is a man of change. He IS a changeling, a veritable chameleon, adapting and amending his life story to fit the circumstances.
cue-word “folks code word for crackers.
His lying knows no bounds. He & Clintoon are too peas in a pod. Both are ethically-challenged and morally corrupt.
what a piece of work these dem candidates are.
You would think Obama would like to give credit to generous African-Americans (who were also ground-breakers here) in financing his dad's education, rather than the white elite.
“cue-word folks code word for crackers.”
I have heard black commentators on TV refer to “black folk”. In looking around the internet, I found this,
