Gore's Message To Climate Change Skeptics (60 Minutes tonight)

(CBS) Self-avowed "P.R. agent for the planet" Al Gore says those who still doubt that global warming is caused by man - among them, Vice President Dick Cheney - are acting like the fringe groups who think the 1969 moon landing never really happened, or who once believed the world is flat.

The former vice president and former presidential candidate talks to 60 Minutes correspondent Lesley Stahl in an interview to be broadcast this Sunday, March 30, at 7 p.m. ET/PT.

Confronted by Stahl with the fact some prominent people, including the nation’s vice president, are not convinced that global warming is man-made, Gore responds: "You're talking about Dick Cheney. I think that those people are in such a tiny, tiny minority now with their point of view, they’re almost like the ones who still believe that the moon landing was staged in a movie lot in Arizona and those who believe the world is flat,” says Gore. "That demeans them a little bit, but it's not that far off," he tells Stahl.

Gore’s campaign to make the world more aware of man’s role in global warming won him the Nobel Peace Prize last year. He donated the $750,000 prize money to The Alliance for Climate Protection, the non-profit he started to help him on his quest. He and his wife, Tipper, tell Stahl they not only matched the Nobel money with their own, but they are also donating to the organization the significant profits from his book and Oscar-winning documentary film about global warming, "An Inconvenient Truth." The funds will help The Alliance for Climate Protection execute a new $300 million ad campaign on global warming set to start next week.

Some of the ads will feature unlikely alliances to drive home the message that people of all stripes are concerned about global warming. These include the Rev. Al Sharpton and the Rev. Pat Robertson, Toby Keith and the Dixie Chicks, and Nancy Pelosi and Newt Gingrich.

Stahl also visits the Gore's Nashville home, recently refitted with touches that include roof solar panels that make it more environmentally friendly. She asks him his feelings on the Supreme Court ruling that handed his opponent, George W. Bush, the electoral votes of Florida and the presidency.

Stahl also asks Gore, an uncommitted superdelegate of the Democratic Party, who he supports for his party’s nomination.

60 Minutes?

Well that will cover about 5 million viewers. About the only ones who watch 60 minutes anymore, have rabbit ears on their T.V.s and can only get one channel.

Solar panels are a tax write-off scam. And Gore is the master of all scams.

I wonder why the prominent skeptics and “deniers” aren’t offered lengthy Lesley Stahl interviews on “60 Minutes” to present our case? This is just one more example of media brainwashing of the intellectually lazy and uninformed voters. Sadly, it works.

Biggest hoax in history by one of the stupidest people in history.

Stupid? Maybe. But if you look into his background carefully you'll discover some very interesting stuff. Especially his Daddy's relationship with Communist bagman Armand Hammer and Occidental Petroleum.

Hammer set Gore Sr. up in politics with Occidental financing and "ran" him like a puppet. Do some research into the profitable -- and polluting -- zinc mine on Gore's property that was purchased at a very low price from Hammer ZINC.

Junior was raised with the Presidency in mind. There is a huge organization behind him and it seems clear to me his role is to accomplish American transition to socialist world government. Don't be surprised if he aces both Hillary and Obama out as the Rat nominee.

The average household in America consumes 10,656 kilowatt-hours (kWh) per year, according to the Department of Energy.

Last August alone, Gore burned through 22,619 kWh-guzzling more than twice the electricity in one month than an average American family uses in an entire year. As a result of his energy consumption, Gore's average monthly electric bill topped $1,359.

Doesn't look right, old numbers. My house is all-electric and we average around 2000kWh/month, more in summer, and I try very hard to keep it down ! The cost quoted implies 6 cents/kWh, who gets it that cheap nowadays ?

If those unbelievers don't stop it we should burn them at the stake like the heretics that they are!

No one has told Al Gore that the sun (not man) warms the planets in our solar system? He is how old? And he has never learned this basic fact of the solar system? Is this indicative of the quality of schools in Tennessee?

Hey Al....we will be keeping all the lights on in and outside of our house that we always do. As for Toby Keith I love his music but he does not dictate what I do. Besides...I wonder how he will explain the lights out thingy when he sings: “I love this bar.” Does he expect all the bars to turn out their lights? OH and yes, what about the hospitals...they dont’ need lights do they?
Same with the police...no lights in the precincts either I guess. But wait...what about the fire houses??? NO lights for them either? Can they see everything as they get into their gear and trucks?
How about the rescue units. Ahhh, they can find the home of a 911 caller without lights... who needs lights? Who needs street lights even? What about the traffic lights...will the city turn those out too? Mmmmm, any other places that don’t need lights for an hour or so? What could happen in an hour anyway????

Do they really think Reno and Las Vegas will turn out their lights for an hour? Can you see the chaos in the casinos if that happened????? This is such a joke and so funny except it could be very dangerous. Will al be turning off all his lights in his house? The thing is will he even BE in his house when all the lights are off or elsewhere enjoying himself in a well lighted area???

IDIOTS all of them. Tonight we light up like a Christmas tree!!! Can’t wait to see that map so I can see mine and others homes and business lit up. This is one of the corniest ideas ever. But then again...there ya go. :)

Algore just has it backwards. The same people who believe in ManMadeGlobalWarming are the same ones who believe the earth is still flat, the moon landings were a hoax, a spacecraft did crash at Roswell and aliens survived, the US Government beams or sprays chemtrails to hurt and control its’ own citizens, and that Big Brother is watching them.
