CHRIS PLANTE BIO (some excerpts from WMAL) -
“The Chris Plante Show”, 630AM - WMAL, Washington, D.C. is broadcast live during the week, Mondays through Fridays from 9:06 a.m. - 11:45 a.m. and on Sundays from 12:06 - 2:00 p.m. by himself and with Jerry Klein, WMAL's Pet Liberal, from 2:06 - 3:00 p.m.
Chris Plante, often sub to Mark “The Great One” Levin, joined the WMAL team after 17 years at CNN including nearly ten years assigned to the Pentagon covering the U.S. military and intelligence community. Chris was assigned variously as Pentagon Correspondent, Senior Producer for National Security Affairs, Military Affairs Producer and as an assignment editor. He traveled extensively for CNN covering defense related stories from Saudi Arabia in 1990 and Bosnia in 1995, to Vietnam, Indonesia, Africa and the remote corners of the former Soviet Union.
Chris also hosts the public affairs show “Homefront America” which is currently seen nationally on The American Life television network, and is working as a documentary film maker. Representing the third generation of his family that has been “on-the-air” in radio and television, Chris brings a unique world-view, and largely conservative/libertarian values to his role as talk show host on WMAL.
Marching in lock-step with no politician, Chris says his political party is “Practi-crat”, “...because of my distinctly practical political leanings.” Chris received the Edward R. Murrow Award from the Radio and Television News Directors’ Association (RTNDA) for his reporting from the Pentagon during the terrorist attacks on September 11th, 2001.

Hello Joe! Hope you had a nice Easter Week. I’ve been sick as a sickly dog since Easter Sunday! I never get sick (the last time was 1997), but when I do, it’s brutal.

Hey Silvie, have you noted that WMAL is still playing commercials done by Chris Core? I’ve been hearing them all week during my morning commute. How creepy and tasteless is that?
I’m sure that it’s something that WMAL and Core have discussed upon his leaving the station. He’s got contracts with these businesses, I’m assuming, and he gets royalties from them (I’m also assuming).
Also, Paul Duckworth starts again tomorrow as Program Director, THANK THE LORD!
I’m sure that we disagree on something, but the important thing is to be able to agree to disagree, which is kind of the point regarding Tammy. I get called a libertarian from time to time, but I been called worse.
Yeah, I been bouncing through the threads here and there. I saw that you had the flu. It sounded pretty bad, yet you FReeped on!
My schedule has been all over the place lately, so who can tell when I might be listening in. I generally have a chance to catch the last hour of Grande and Andy, but often am taking care of our critters (we have horses and goats) around 9. After that if I get a chance I’m off to Dennis Miller at 10. Usually, I can’t work and listen to anyone at the same time though.

Sounds like the station is still ltrying to find its way with progrming.
I liked Plante at night, but then again that’s because I’m usually not MAL in the AM, unless I’m driving the kids to school ~ which is most of the time!
What else is a girl to do? My husband took off a few days to take care of our son (it was Spring Break week, unfortunately -- the timing!), so that way I could rest. I had the radio on all day long, and I set a futon and pillows in our computer room.
About Tammy -- I would say that her views on abortion and on her personal life are her choice, but she's still definitely more conservative than McCain in a majority of important issues. I think that she's truly at a point in her life where there's still room for improvement and to think things through. I really like her show!

FYI -
There was no mention whatsoever of former DC Mayor Anthony Williams - who really was the one who championed and worked tirelessly for this new stadium to come to fruition - and whether or not he attended the game with the VIPs. As you may recall, Adrian Fenty a few years back was completely opposed to the park, as was Linda Cropp.
It completely both baffles and incenses me to see that Fenty and these officials are now so excited about the ballpark and sitting in with the VIPs, when he originally killed the plans over and over as a DC Councilman.
As Simon Cowell might say: “Pathetic”.
