The first thing about Kenyan politics (or African politics for that matter) is that it is ethnically driven. Odinga is Luo and Kibaki is Kikuyu.

Jomo Kenyatta (the father of modern Kenya) was Kikuyu, Daniel Arap Moi (came from a minority tribe to balance the friction between the Luo and the Kikuyu), Mwai Kibaki was Kikuyu.

Kikuyus are the largest ethnic group (23%) - that is not large enough for an absolute majority. Long years of Kikuyu rule meant that other ethnic groups were marginalised.

Odinga comes from the next largest ethnic group the Luos. Since independence there has been friction between the Luo and the Kikuyu. Odinga put together a coalition of other ethnic groups to defeat Kibaki in the last elections. The results were rigged and all hell let loose.

(When elections are rigged in Africa, violence ALWAYS follows e.g. - Nigeria, Congo, Zimbabwe).

When africans burn other africans inside Churches, Islam is not always the cause. (Afterall, the Hutus massacred the Tutsis within Church premises even though both groups were nominally christian).

If you know anything about Kenyan history, you will understand that the Kikuyus did quite a bit of blood letting in the past and that Africans don’t forget such things in a hurry.

This is the legacy of British rule. The British insisted on putting people who had little in common together first to ‘divide and rule’ and second to save administrative costs. (Most of World’s trouble spots are ex-British colonies - and that is not a coincidence).

I'm not sure what the "This" is, that you are referring to.

I assume it is correct that Odinga ran on a "socialist democrat ticket"? Is there any difference in the usage of those terms in Kenya, as we would understand them in the United States?

Would you call Kenya, "one of the most stable places in Africa"?

Is there any part of this Wikipedia biography that you disagree with: At his website, Raila lists himself as a social democrat,[18] thus making distance from his father, who was openly socialist. His party, the LDP, is affiliated to the Liberal International.

Raila Odinga receives political and military support from the third largest ethnic base in Kenya, the Luo. Further to this, there have been recent calls from the Minister of Justice and Constitutional Affairs, Martha Karua, for Raila to answer allegations regarding impropriety in the purchase and subsequent sale of land on the Kisumu Molasses Plant.[19]

[edit] Signed deal with Muslims In 2007 Raila Odinga was rumoured to have signed a memorandum of understanding with the National Muslim Leaders Forum,[20] NAMLEF. Kenyan Muslim leaders denied that the MOU promised to introduce Sharia for Muslims if it won elections, but said its deal with the Orange Democratic Movement was to end the current discrimination against Muslims.

If, as is reported, Kenya is a predominately Christian nation, what effect would the introduction of Sharia Law have on the institutions of Kenya?

To the best of your knowledge is this information on Barack Obama correct: Senator Barack Hussein Obama supported his older half-brother Abongo Obama, a militant muslim leader of the Luo tribe of Barack Obama's family and campaigned for his uncle, Raila Odinga during his 2006 visit to Kenya, where the famous picture of Barack in a turbin was taken from. He briefly played soccer for Luo Union[23] (later known as Re-Union) as a midfielder.

This statement is not supported by evidence. Its actually propaganda. Its not the British who should be blamed for all the evils that have befallen many of their former colonies, thats a neocolonial black nationalist myth, perpetrated by Huey Newton politicians who dwell in the back slums of Chicago. Basically the real reason for the blood lettings and fracas in Kenya is simply that the Kenyan tribes prefer to govern Kenya in the tribal way. A parallel democratic remnant exists for form, and for consensual decision making, but the real exercise of power is done via the ancient tribal ways.

Obama enters Kenya in August of 2006 with his own neocolonial schtick, and preaches to the Kenyan "savages" about how to overthrow the "corrupt" government. This is every bit as colonialist as the British were , and the Muslim Slavers of Yemen before them. He doesn't even realize the tribal system of politics would necessitate a blood letting with such public fanning of passion and obvious ignorance of the way that tribal politics work.He truly was a stooge. Thus the Luo go on a rampage because the election was won by cheating? Hell, every election ever held in Kenya has involved cheating, but still a stable government was always produced, more stable than any other in Africa. Of course, that does not count in Obamas book, nor in Odingas, because their agenda is to create unstability, not to bring stability to Kenya.

Obama and Odinga mean to do one thing: bring Kenya into a new order via the Muslim Council which will align Kenya with the Sudan and Somalia, and eventually bring Egypt into the radical Muslim fold, and then combine with other nations to take Mecca away from the House of Saud, bringing the Arab and Black races into World caliphate power and subjecting the white race to the overdue punishment history requires?

As to the economy , Odinga's and Obama's goal is to run the white Europeans and Jews out of the country, especially those on the Mombassa Coast in the Jewish owned resorts there. Obamas policy and Odingas for Kenya is essentially nationalist and racist. They do not want to move along to get along in the tribal way which has proven successful in Kenya.

If Odinga comes into power in Kenya, according to Obama's black nationalist political lights, Kenya will become absolutely unstable, and join those other impoverished nations of Africa where women can't walk down the street without paying a pussy toll to the local thugs, and kids starve, and AIDS is rampant.

Thats what Obama and his neocolonialist black power US bwana politics mean for Kenya. The Luo genocide is merely a forecast of what will come should Odinga attain power in Kenya.

Recently the tribal remedy of power sharing has been applied for the sake of order in Kenya. This happened only after Odinga realized that no amount of blood letting caused by the Luo would shake the government of Kenya, and would merely color Odinga with the same paint as that of Idi Amin, justly deserved I might add.

So like most liberal trolls , you think there is a simple answer to complex tribal balances of power, which require long term intermarriage and trust, coeducation, and friendship, for the tribal system to work, not American based neocolonial black power politics.

Yes, go on and blame the British, those allegedly dirty white ba$tard colonialists who ruined Kenya. And in the same breath you can also blame the neocolonialist Black power mongerer, Barrak Obama. If you do not, then obviously you can't say anything about the British, for both they and Obama are cast from the same colonialist mold , both knowing little or nothing of the tribal system of politics in Kenya, and caring nothing for the very structures that have kept Kenya stable and economically viable ahead of most African nations.

A pox on Obama and on Odiga. Perhaps they both together should go again to Nairobi to speak in public, but the ancient tribal ways are waiting, and their heads may adorn the tips of spears if they try that again.

And Obama in the USA? If he tries his black nationalist power politics schtick here, as he did in Kenya, he will be pushing the exit button to US politics, and joining Rev. Wright in the looney bin of US culture, where BTW, Obama truly does belong. He just hides it well so far, but the slick is wearing thin, and soon we will see Obama's true face: that of a punk black nationalist with very narrow minded racist views about Americans in general. Too bad he never outgrew Hewy Newton. McCain will mop the floor of America with him.

May the Kikuyu continue their peaceful reign in Kenya, and continue to lead Kenyan rulership in the ancient tribal ways, and may the gods of Mt. Kenya keep that rule peaceful. Kenya in its essence is far from the Western World, and that is as it should be.

Jambo! Kwaheri mizuri bwana. Photobucket
