Al Gore: Global Warming 'Deniers' are Flat Earthers (Crypto-fascism alert)
Modern Conservative ^ | Christopher Cook

Posted on 03/29/2008 9:07:23 AM PDT by connell

If we lived in a nation where all sides had relatively equal access to the mechanisms of information dissemination, comments like those of Al Gore's on 60 Minutes would be laughable, because there would be other voices there to compete:

Al Gore says those who still doubt that global warming is caused by man - among them, Vice President Dick Cheney - are acting like the fringe groups who think the 1969 moon landing never really happened, or who once believed the world is flat.
Unfortunately, we don't live in such a world, and this isn't laughable: It's crypto-fascist. Gore is attempting to create a new reality. He is attempting to marginalize tens of thousands of scientists and millions of people with a few sentences. He keeps repeating it over and over again. He has inordinate ability to influence with his words, so saying things like this and that the "debate is over" actually fabricates a reality where those who believe differently are (metaphorically) just inches away from being hunted down by mobs carrying torches and wielding farm implements. He has millions of drones who follow him. Many of them teach the children, and thus they create a new generation of kids who believe Gore's nonsense.

But alternate voices on this do not have nearly the same access. Consequently, Gore and his many minions can actually rely on terrible science and debunked models to propagate their false reality. And I am not exaggerating about the children. I had the opportunity to speak with an eleven-year-old not so long ago. I wanted to know if she had any kind of real sense of objective moral standards, of good and evil.

"Oh sure," she told me, "evil is like when a person doesn't recycle."

That's just messed up. An eleven-year-old in 2007 has...

Global Warming is a Global Pyramid Scheme. It is zero again this morning, Algore, no carbon credits for you.

Actually, if the world were flat, Gore’s hysterical vision of our imminent demise would be a reality. There would be no “polar” ice caps (since there would be no poles), and water would cover the entire surface of the Earth, two miles deep.

You pretty much have to be a Flat Earther in order to justify Gore’s scenario.

Seems to me that just about everyone will agree that the earth cools and warms several degrees F. in cycles of 1500 years. I doubt if CO2 contributes more than a trace amount to this.

Here in north Idaho, we have had a foot of snow this morning....more predicted for tonight. Of course, it IS DUE to global warming (sarc).

Funny - I consider belief in anthropogenic global warming to be like belief that the sun rotates around the earth, or that the earth is flat.

So maybe Algore have more in common than I thought!

Everyone won't agree with that. Even now we really don't know exactly what the average global surface temperature is and never did.

If you don't know what the temperature is, or was, you can never know if it's getting warmer or cooler.

By Algore's standards, I am a flat earther. By my standards, he is a flat header, a flimflam man, an opportunist, a liar who does not actually believe he is because he has drunk too much kool-aid.

Actually, the real “flat earthers” are those who believe in the myth of human induced global warming, and believe that it will be a disaster, and are in denial about the real science, and the scientific method of research.

This is actually a pagan religion.

The Church Of Global Warming, who’s deity is Gaia.

How dare we criticize the infallibility of their vicar, Pope Algore I?

“When people stop believing in God, they don’t believe in nothing — they believe in anything.”
