"We need a mental health support system. This is further evidence of that."

I'll say you do, Rep. Younge.

If it’s East St. Louis, or even just St. Louis, it is a Democrat bastion where sometimes the dead vote on Election Day.

This robbery and what's happening to this community is the result of a lack of a supportive system for our youth.

That is supposed to be their family, dear lady.

East St. Louis was listed as an All-American city in 1959. It went to hell in about 5 years.

I go the East St. Louis regularly for business. The downtown reminds me of the empty city in the original War of the Worlds movie.

Illinois needs to tighten its lax gun control laws

We need jobs," she said. "This happened in broad daylight at noon. We need a mental health support system. This is further evidence of that."

IL needs a mental health support system alright, for it's voters. IL voters keep electing liberal Democrat morons like this woman to the state house, and that's a sure sign of mental illness.

IL also needs a law allowing lawful citizens to be armed for their own self defense against criminals like the woman's attacker, but instead Democrat lawmakers are trying hard to take away the few gun rights that IL citizens have left. Gun laws do nothing but disarm honest people who obey the law, and those people aren't the problem. Criminals don't care about gun laws, they're criminals and breaking laws is their line of work. Why would anyone expect them to obey gun laws when they don't obey laws against murder, rape, robbery, etc? How can people be stupid enough to think that ANY gun control law will prevent crime when common sense tells anyone who has even a smidgen of it just the opposite?

"This robbery and what's happening to this community is the result of a lack of a supportive system for our youth. We need jobs,"...

Yeah, right; the thug (of unknown description, though his clothing colors are well described) who robbed her would have rather been working? Get a clue!

If I were a decent young black man I'd be pi$$ed (or at least annoyed) at me for my assumptions, but hey, what else could I think?

When your work takes you to particular neighborhoods, as does mine, you've got a lot to consider. Call police HQ before going to the property and request a rollby. Don't make eye contact and you're perceived as a target. Make eye contact and you're a threat or a challenge. Don't wear anything red or blue, or you'll be dissing one of the gang factions...

This is a classic example of “stuck on stupid”.

Uhh, lady, he didn’t rob you cause he wanted a job or was crazy. He robbed you because he was a thug.

The conditions in East St. Louis are not new. East St. Louis became a hell-hole around 50 years ago.

My wife was born there in 1963 and her parents moved out in the late 1960's as part of the white-flight that was going on everywhere at that time, but particularly, from East St. Louis. My father-inlaw abandoned a business in East St. Louis because things were so bad.

In the early 1980's a cousin of my wife who lived in rural Southern Illinois mistakenly exited from the freeway into East St. Louis while traveling to St. Louis. Within one block he was dead with five bullets in him. He had a wife and three kids.

East St. Louis doesn't need jobs or mental health care. It needs to be either walled off from humanity or leveled to the ground. There may not be a worse place on Earth. It may actually be safer to walk around Baghdad carrying an American Flag than to walk one block in East St. Louis.
