Just because you're talking in another language doesn't mean it's ok for the school to sanction insults that you want to deliver in that language. I don't think I need to show church groups being rejected on wanting to put church bells in the tower of a school building to state that this wouldn't be allowed for other groups; previous cases can show that. Furthermore, specific UofM regulations only allow "free speech" at a specific location on campus called "the rock," and amplified sound is only allowed for speeches and announcements. I think you'd be very fortunate if you could convince them that your prayer counts as a speech. Their regulations certainly don't permit you to pick the nearest tall building on campus, go up with a megaphone and start praying loudly for all to hear. They also don't let you hang church bells up there.

You don't seem to understand that to some in islam, this is a way of marking territory, once you start adhan on fridays you can fight the people if they stop doing adhan.

One of the requirements when living under Sharia/Muslim law is that non-Muslims must wear identifying clothing.

Wonder where Hitler got the armband idea...

No, I’m just different from you. I honestly do not believe that this will lead to the same thing that happened to the Jews in Nazi Germany.

I spent two semesters as a visiting professor in Istanbul. I lived in an apartment on campus. Five times a day I heard the prayer call from nearby mosques. I decided there was no reason I could't pray when I heard the prayer call, even though I'm not a Muslim. It served as an interruption in the daily routine, to remind myself that there were more important things than the daily routine.

Not all think it is insulting that some people believe differently from others and proclaim it.

Not all who think differently think it’s necessary to receive special treatment for it.

So if some similar, but Christian, were broadcast out of the speakers in Hebrew or Aramaic, would the ACLU be OK with that?

Well, here's an idea:

The Bible does tell believers to "pray without ceasing". A Christian call to prayer would be ongoing, and the Muslims could use their P.A. system the 5 times necessary for their prayer call.

Since the Christian call is ongoing, the Muslims would get a tone - 5 seconds, something like that.

Very generous. Next!

I don’t think you’re supposed to say stuff like that here.

Yes, as individuals, we tend to think differently on a lot of subjects.

I think that was his point -

the Jews didn’t think it would lead to that either.

You need to get educated on what Islam (submission) is about.

You have three choices, as an infidel:
Convert to Islam
Live under subjugation (like the Jews in Germany)
or DIE.

That translation is wrong. "Allah" is not a word for God.

The Arabic word for "god" is "ilah".

"allah" is the islamic god's NAME.

So, correct your translation and replace the "god with "allah" and "ilah" where apropriate as it was origionally written.

"The Koran is pretty clear that "Allah is the islamic ilahs name, and states this 54 times.

Qur'an 20:14 "Verily, I am Allah. No Ilah (God) may be worshiped but I. So serve you Me, and perform regular prostration prayer for My praise. Verily the Hour is coming. I am almost hiding it from Myself."

Despite media's ignorance (or perhaps deliberate attempts) "allah" is not the same god as the Christian God, Yahweh. They are exact opposites, which tells you who "allah" really is.

Qur'an 72:1 "Say (Muhammad): 'It has been revealed to me that a group of (three to ten) Jinn [demons or devils] listened (to the Qur'an). They said, "We have heard a really wonderful recital (of this Qur'an)! It guides to the Right Path. We have come to believe it. We shall not associate anything with our Lord."

The devil follows the Koran. That should tell you who's "bible" it is.

This is what you are advocating. Do you really think there is a moral equality between how you think and how these savages think?

Yes, some individuals think that once a place begins Friday adhan they must fight them to the death if they ever cease Friday adhan. That’s “different” (dangerous). Some do not think that such warnings are important, I do. Guess that makes me “different” (dangerous).

I don’t believe there will be enough Muslims in this country for many, many years (if at all) to attempt anything like that. The Jews had been in Germany a long time and they were a regular part of the populace. America today, is very different than Germany of the ‘30s. I do not think they will be arriving in anywhere near the strength to do anything of the sort.

Time will certainly tell.

Hitler got a lot of his ideas from Mohammad. He realized Islam was a very good war manual.

In actuality, that is nothing at all what I am advocating. I am merely saying that I do not believe that having the call to prayers broadcast a total of 4 times, on the campus of UM, will have any detrimental effects.

"Not all think it is insulting that some people believe differently from others and proclaim it."

They would if they knew that those beliefs included their death for refusing to believe as they do.

I believe those individuals that think that, are very mistaken.

"I don’t believe there will be enough Muslims in this country for many, many years (if at all) to attempt anything like that. "

There are roughly 10 million Muslims in this country. That's already enough.

Just because some believe you should die for believing differently, certainly doesn’t mean you will die. It’s just a belief, and I think America’s belief system is stronger than that.
