And let us not forget the firefighters from Oregon that were killed enroute to the fire. I know she’s not directly responsible for that accident, but they would probably be alive today.

” Or the fine is a joke.”
Nah, if she works hard for 40 hours a week, doesn’t take too many coffee breaks, doesn’t spend foolisly for fancy 3 martini lunches for about $145 an hour, she can pay it off in about 100 years. If they bump her wages up to $290 an hour she can work it off in a measly 50 years if they don’t withhold anything from her pay packet.
No sweat.

Bad choice of words, wasn't it. Whenever I hear "move on" anymore I think of someone being Clintonian.
Still, I think the six year sentence was just. She didn't mean to start a forest fire; she was incredibly reckless and terminally stupid. And she's ruined her life as well.

"The Enviros are very quiet on this."
Of course. And no one will call them on this.

I drove through the smoldering area and saw the burned out houses. That woman deserves worse than she got.

This is what her handiwork looked like as of last fall (Looking S.W. from Cedar Mountain towards the Platte River.)
This is what's left of the historic Wildhorn Ranch.
"I feel good. It's done," Terry Barton said
"I'm just asking for people to move on with their lives," Barton said in court.
I wonder how the owners and (former) employees of the Wildhorn are moving on with their lives, since Barton destroyed their livelyhood?

A fifth firefighter on his way to battle the Hayman Fire has died as a result of injuries sustained in an accident near Parachute Friday.
Bartholomew Bailey, 20, died Monday evening.
He was among a group of firefighters from Oregon coming to Colorado when their van crashed along Interstate 70.
Four firefighters died that night.

Terry Barton destroyed people’s jobs and businesses that put food on the family table, paid the utilities, taxes...
Floods later raveged the hill side and roads...which then were closed so that hunters, fishermen, recreationalist...could not acces the public lands.
But she is moving on.

"But she is moving on."Oh, that's ok. We must have compassion for her. After all, that ranch was a symbol of the excessive capitalistic conspicuous consumption that is bordering on affluenza in this nation of economic bullies. America will never be right till the people "bring it all down, man!" (/dripping sarcasm off)
