If this speech was not pandering the those "across the aisle" and yet another example of dissing Conservatives, I don't what is

His proposed new organization, the League of Democracies, to "harness the vast influence of more than 100 democratic nations around the world to advance our values and defend our shared interests," is pure and simply code words for if and when we should encounter another situation which led us to Iraq or even initially going into Afghanistan after the attack on 9/11, he would seek a "consensus" of these so called "100 Democracies" before acting.

And while he's at it, I would not be overly suprised if he included that Uber Mother Flubber of all Deliberative Bodies, the UN?

As an aside, I would dearly love to see his "list" of those "100 Democracies."--Freedom of Speech, Press Religion; Free Elections; Market Ecomonies; etc.

Of the top of my head, I can think of probably 20 or so countries out of the 195 in the world that I would consider even coming close to being considered "Democratic."

In addition his proposal for the closing of Guantanamo is straight out of the DemoRat playbook and worse yet, his comments as to the need to "work with our allies to forge a new international understanding on the disposition of dangerous detainees under our control," goes even further than the most far-left loons regarding the disposition of the terrorist presently being held.

Not only would he have the terrorist transferred here and held in Federal Facilities (which would surely automatically afford them all of the rights and privileges under the law as US Citizens) but I interpret his moronic statements as meaning he would seek advice (or worse) from our "allies?" as to the disposition of the legal challenges by these terrorists as well as the resolution for their continued detention.

Sheesh. Reaching out to Conservatives with speeches like this?

Could have fooled me!

No, not really, I've had his number for years, and its a big fat 0.

Well, I guess that leaves us out, cuz the United States is a Republic.

If we can keep it.

He doesn’t need Conservatives. The way its counted right now, McQueeg gets about 10% of the Democrats as cross-over votes, no matter who wins the nomination.

I’m worried that it’s more than mere pandering. It just might be what he actually thinks he should do. That’s worse than pandering.

John McCain called yesterday for a more cooperative foreign policy enshrined in a new League of Democracies and declared that the prison camp at Guantanamo Bay should be closed.

Is McCain retarded, or just psychologically imbalanced?

Great idea... let’s have another League of Nations. The first one worked sooooooooooo well.

I read the speech. It could have been given by a Democrat just as easily.

Nothing really new although it is a mistake to give these institutions a name because when you do that a Gov’t Dept has to be created and funded to oversee it.

This kind of stuff from McCain sounds great to the “Mindless Middle” because they don’t understand the implications, complications and results...thanks to our Liberal-controlled education system and the Liberal-controlled news media.

I watched “John Adams” on HBO the other night (which is amazing in its own right that HBO has something good on).

The episode was “Independence,” showing the drafting and signing of the Declaration of Independence. It brought tears to my eyes.

Most people in this country do not know how and why our country was formed. That is a crying shame as well.

You have to realize that the Republican party is NO LONGER a conservative party. McNut is a Liberal. So basically conservatives have a choice of a Liberal (McNut), a Socialist (The Hilda Beast), or Marxism light (Obama Your Moma).

We conservatives have no choice. Therefore, I am not voting for President. The Republican party is going to take it on the Chin since they have abandoned the conservatives.

Whilenot noticed by many he mentioned the Democratic group of nations.

This is a plan put forth several years ago to form a United Nations type org made up of ONLY democratic countries, and not belong to the UN.

While not liking MC I like that idea.

I noticed the same things in his speech, and they had the same effects on me. The only thing he seemed to have some grit on was Iraq - on that he seems to stand up for our troops. Seems to. The rest of his speech could have been taken from a Democrat policy book.

Like a lot of people around FR have said, McCain is Dem-Lite.

Rush played five soundbites from McInsane's speech yesterday, and I swear that sorry #$%* for a GOP candidate sounded just like the globalist liberal John Kerry with all his whining about how the U.S. shouldn't unilaterally take the lead on important issues, but be a good partner and go along with all the other democracies, blah, blah, blah....

The dhimocrats ought to be feeling D@*$ proud of themselves. They've got three liberal candidates to vote for President come this November. Either way the election goes, they win the White House for the next four years.

I was listening to some of the speech on Rush’s show.
Just about the time I start loosening the closepin on my nose for this idiot, he steps in it again.

I don’t care what anyone says, McCain is no better than Clinton or Obama.

Every time I get closer to thinking, “okay, I’ve got to vote for this loser because at least he will take us to hell a little slower than the Dems”, he pulls this crap.

Screw him. I don’t give a flying you-know-what who wins the presidency or Congress. We are doomed no matter what. So we conservatives either all move to one state and vote out the marxist commies and start over fresh and move out to other states and do the same or find an island.

I give up.
