Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger, responding to the mother of a Republican state legislator, said Wednesday it would be a "big mistake" to blame illegal immigrants for the state's looming $8 billion budget problem.
The Republican governor was in San Luis Obispo to pitch his budget proposal to local officials and business leaders when he was asked by Diane Blakeslee, mother of Assemblyman Sam Blakeslee, R-San Luis Obispo, how the state should handle fiscal burdens created by illegal immigrants.
"There is, you know, always a time like this where you start pointing the finger at various different elements of what creates the budget mess, and, you know, some may point the finger at illegal immigrants," Schwarzenegger said. "I can guarantee you, I have been now four years in office in Sacramento, I don't think that illegal immigration has created the mess that we are in."

Good question. I’ll see if I can find it.
At the top of the page, click on ‘FreeRepublic’ in the top left corner. That will take you to the FR home page.
Once there click on ‘my account’ in the top right corner. That will take you to your account page.
Once there click on ‘locale’. That will take you to a page with a list of states.
Once there, click on your own state.
Good luck.
Sorry folks. SierraWasp, see my last post before this.
The Gov is trying to say that the illegals produce 25 billion a year? That guy is still on drugs!
I dount if that’s in state and federal taxes. So we bring them in to benefit business, but the state runs a deficit. Not buying it.
I doubt it also.
I don’t see how that retrieves the e-mail I left on the Governor’s site form?
That was a comment to help SierrWasp. One problem at a time please... ;-)
I’m going to lunch now... heh heh heh.
>>The chief blame falls on: Arnold Schwarzenegger.<<
And the Dems in the legislature.
Note that Arnie is one of the 4 people that McCain says will “certify” that the border is secure. The other 3 are Rick “Trans Texas Corridor” Perry, Napolitano, and Bill Richardson.
Hurry. The records are fast being purged from the net. The Austrian's wikipedia entry was expunged 2 years ago regarding the loss/reacquisition sequence (the push for the presidency) and many of the US articles touching on his citizenship follies and early visa violations were also sanitized. But .... no little political helpers overseas after the death sentence row. The Austrian, English language publicans still have their archives intact.
Thank you for the tip. I appreciate it.
Hey! You had my permission!!!
Well, I didn’t know that.
Well, look back up at replies 66 & 7! (grin) There now... You’ve been properly enlightened on our “money grubbing dimbulb II” Governumbnuts!!!
I used to go to the budget hearings in the senate and assembly and sat in on many briefings about the "process" downtown. These people are all crooks and liars, both parties for the most part. They don't even know what a lie is anymore, they have ignored it for so long.
People like McClintock are unusual.
Or more succinctly...one can't fix a problem if they can't admit what the problem is...ie you can't fix Mexico if you can't get Mexicans to admit Mexico sucks....
Ping!
Take off the rose colored glasses.
