So your point is what? Whites are not the only racists living in the United States Of America? That Blacks have bigoted points of view? Would you care to state why you think that is?
Calling him an idiotic reader wasn’t too smart either. We can try to convince the other side that they’re wrong without calling them names. “Mr. Christopher” may very well read this article. Oh well.
I don't especially think McCain is the guy who will do it, but listing out the long Democrat history of bigotry and oppression would be a good idea. Challenge the media: "The GOP is racist? Give me an example. Tell me how the GOP shows its bigotry. I don't think you have anything."
Jerimiah Wright - a black David Duke.
However, if Mr. Obama were to win, I fear that a great many conservative politicians who lack my intestinal fortitude would bite their tongues rather than risk being branded a racist."
Should be amended to:
However, if Mr. Obama were to win, I fear that a great many conservative politicians American sheep who lack my intestinal fortitude would bite their tongues vote for Obama rather than risk being branded a racist."
There, much better...
What does Obama's mom think about this?
Thanks for posting. The idea of a columnist getting into a debate with a reader, and then publicly displaying his version of the argument while labeling the person he was debating with an idiot is wrong on several levels.
However; I wonder if such a debate took place anywhere except in the author’s mind and the whole premise was just to set the stage for the author to wheel out his arguments.
All of that being said, I thought the author repeated many great points and for the most part his arugments were one of the better summations of why African Americans should look favorably on the GOP that I have seen to date.
Whether or not the person with which he was debating was real or fictional is mostly moot in that the author did a good job of accurately capturing the mood and spirit of the most public sentiments expressed by the African American community in today’s media while presenting well thought out responses.
