His 'true face' is wanting freedom and democracy for his people.

Yes, China, by all means - let's see his true face

That's an interesting point considering that Tibetans have never lived under democracy (even when ruled by Dalai Lamas).
While I don't like the way the Chinese treated Tibetans and polluted their culture, I also do not support Independence. That would be like Texas trying to declare Independence from the United States.

Texas was not violently occupied, annexed and oppressed by the USA. Totally different case.

I also do not support Independence.

So I suppose your thoughts on freedom somewhat mirror that? If the rest of America turned commie all except for Texas, then by your logic Texas should also go commie.

A better analogy for Tibet would be if the native American nations want to go independent from the United States. The Tibetans can choose the way of Geronimo, and they will get the same fate as he did.

The problem with China is that there is not a system where the common folks can address their grievances.

A better analogy for China’s claims on Tibet would be to say Spain has a legitimate claim to the entire continental U.S. because they once had possession of what is now Texas.

That would be like Texas trying to declare Independence from the United States.

Your analogy is full of crap.

Tibet: Violently conquered by China in the 40's-50's and exploited to no end. Tibetans are second class people after the Han Chinese.

Texas: Petitioned for annexation and was granted in 1845. Yankees coming down here better pack their manners.
