OK, I have to be honest about David Cook’s performances last night. When I heard Simon’s choice for him, I was really worried. Then he started singing, and he really did an amazing job and I had a tear in my eye! The 2nd song, I had never heard of. The beginning wasn’t great and then he picked it up. His voice was off key in places and he was shouting. The 3rd song was better than the 2nd but not as good as the first. I have to say, I was disappointed and didn’t want to be. With that being said, I had to vote for him because he has done very well and been consistent all along. He is my kind of music. I don’t know if I am imagining, but after each performance, David lets out a big sigh of relief. I could be wrong but I think his brother’s cancer and whatever else is going on, has taken a big toll on David.

Yes, his ability to turn songs into his own is excellent. If I had just tuned into this 1 week, I would find it hard to decide a winner. Since he really nailed the first song and made it his own, that was enough to override the other OK performances.

I did vote for Syesha, because I want her to stay in and because she has been slighted by the judges and everyone else. Why can’t the girl get the credit she is due? You aren’t alone in that thinking.

Thanks for the comments RockerMom. I had wondered if my take was somewhat tainted. I’m glad to hear that your take was somewhat similar.

I do think Syesha and David would be the best match-up.

I’ve begun to wonder about David A. I love his voice, but where do you market him. More grown up people aren’t going to buy as many albums as the kids will. And when David A. sang a contemporary song (last night), it was awful. This leades me to think that he may have a tough time in the genre that the youth are into these days.

I don’t know, I guess I could say the same thing about Syesha too. Still, she seems more marketable to me. I can see her peforming in concerts, with a big fan base. I can see her selling albums to the same people who like the other female stars in the genre she’s been singing from.

Perhaps I’m a little biased, but I do find myself thinking Syesha would be the best number two. I do love David A.’s voice a lot. That first song last night was beautiful.

Well, it’s down to the waiting now...
